I was wondering, if somone gets a call over the phone that he/she is in for the next OPC class from the service, but doesn't sign the offer yet, is there still a possibility that you may get deffered or are you in for sure and you sign the offer closer to the preOPC date?
Thank you!!
Ideally, signing any employment offer on paper makes it binding and "official". I'm not sure on the legality of it, but they can retract the offer if certain requirements are not met or you are found to be "unsuitable". Not sure what you're worried about.
Thanks man, so one of my friends got an offer over the phone over a month ago but did not sign on paper yet, so he was curious why didn't they make him sign the offer on paper the week after or something. He finished the whole process and passed everything. Appreciate the feedback! I guess they'll call him in sooner or later around preopc to sign
Oh I see. Well yeah, because of COVID-19. Peel is taking precautions right now. Congrats to him!

The contract isn't concrete. The real safety is passing probation because even after the contract is signed, if you read the fine print, they can let you go before probation expires for any reason really.

I see. How is pre and post opc training with prp? Is fitness and all the biggest focus?

When I went through fitness was huge. I don't think it's changed much. You really need to be fit. Keep your head down and don't stand out. As the Japanese famously said, the nail who sticks out gets hammered down.

Same! Mine was 2 week ago. Did he hear back yet? I'm awaiting my next step or my file to be assigned to a recruiter.

He was scheduled to do his PREP testing next week. And after will likely be assigned to a recruiter

Ah! That's good! I'm not from Peel but I'm still waiting to do my PREP. I haven't heard back from my LFA, so I'm not sure if no news is good news lol. I was just told I would be contacted by a recruiter when my file is assigned to one and that I will be advised at that time, if I am moving on.

Have you been told which exact date OPC will start?
