Parking is a revenue stream for the city. It's a separate budget within TPS. They will never freeze that hiring. I guess I shouldn't say never. But it's very rare.
I passed the interview and have gone in and filled out the pre-background questionnaire. What comes after this? Does the bgi not start until I am contacted and informed that it is starting? Or am I currently in the background investigation and just waiting for (hopefully) a call with an offer of employment.
Hoping to be in the December class but haven't heard anything since going in for the background questionnaire..
Quite disappointed 50+ are taken to background, how do they even narrow it down from there if your a perfect candidate and have excellent references etc, I've yet to be called either and by the sounds of it the calls have already been made.

No call. I suspect at this point that they cut the class size to a smaller number and the ones who will be n it already got calls, while the rest will be getting a rejection letter. Just speculating - it's never over till it's over..
I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason..i know i did my best and will keep on trying if this time is not my time.

I think this became a requirement in 2015. Maybe 2014. It's probably for a variety of reasons. One being amount of applicants like you say. But it also shows a level of competence and fitness. They can weed out those applicants who can't pass the testing etc.
Special constable positions require ATS testing.
