RCMP Alberta applicants

Hi everyone -

I attempted to scroll back through the thread to see if this had been mentioned but couldn't find anything - long story short:

I have applied to RCMP through Ontario and just received an e-mail saying I will be contacted shortly by a recruiter. I am moving to Calgary, AB early next year and
saw that you can choose to be pre-posted to Alberta; I was wondering if that is general (ie the province in its entirety), or if you can choose a specific detachment (ie one in Calgary).
I am currently already working for the Federal Government as a BSO if that helps.

It's just the province, you could be from lethbridge and end up in Fort Chipeweyan, it is entirely up to where the Force decides it has the greatest need at that particular moment.

My colleague recently applied online and it took a month- 5 weeks before he was contacted by anyone.

I applied on June 22 and got a system generated email on July 8 saying I have reached the next step where a career presentation and entrance exam is require. It has been almost a month and I have heard nothing after that.

Hi there, I applied around the same time and was stuck in the same situation it just takes awhile with them sometimes to update you, I'm assuming since we had similar dates you received the newest email the other week with your exam and presentation dates.

I'll be going to Edmonton on the 22nd of this month to write mine, let me know if I'll see you there!
