Postby charbopa » Fri Sep 25, 2009 3:52 pm

Hi All,

Recently wrote the RPAT (SEPT 11) and waiting for my results, wanted to know how many applicants are in the same boat as I am from O div?

Hey, Im O Division,

I am attending Depot on October 19th and just wanted to drop a line and wish you all the luck in the process. The O Division regular members that I have come in contact with have been great and I know they will help you with anything you need so utilize them.
Your early in the process but remember keep your head up and go for it.

Cheers,

Pen

Hello,

I am from O Division and would love to chat and speak with other applicants in the process. I have been in the BGI Stage for over a month now. Just working, working out, and hoping for the next stage!

Hey guys

I am from O Division too. The process started pretty quick for me, but has slowed to a crawl now. I submitted my package July 27 and haven't heard a peep since (not unexpectedly). I hope to get a call soon but it looks like we all waited 6 months too long to apply, the process is way bogged down now!!! I heard something like 5000 active applications from O Division alone!

Good luck everyone.

Hey guys,

I'm from O division too. The process so far has been slow all the way through - I must've just missed a package mailout when I wrote my RPAT. But so be it; it happens when it happens.

Good luck to everyone from Ontario (and elsewhere). And please, post timelines. Not that it'll matter too much with all the recent changes in recruiting policy, but it helps to be reminded that people do make it through the process.

I am also in the process, I have my polygraph on Oct 8th. Took a while to hear back for the interview, i was called August 13th for that and was able to schedule it just over a month later. Received the call for my polygraph 3 days after my interview, and have met someone who was called in one day, so they're pretty quick for that step. From RPAT to polygraph for me will be about 7 months.
March2009- RPAT: 4.14
May2009- PARE: 3:49
May2009- Submitted package
September2009- Interview

May2010- Medical/Psych exam
May2010- BGI started
Sept14 2010- Final Review

Yep, washing horses & mucking stables while humming O' Canada....there's nothing that can top that experience.

DEFFERAL: December 05, 2008 ("Lack of Integrity") ...ya ok. ha!
APPEALED DEFFERAL: December 08, 2008
DEFFERAL REMOVED: June 11, 2009 (BGI / Security clearance reassumes)

BGI / Security: June 2009 - PASS
Pare #3: July 08, 2009 (3:33)
Offer: 31 August 2009
Depot: Troop 23, October 19, 2009

Any questions feel free to ask.
My deferral was a mistake... i appealed it, with a formal letter given to EVERY person I came in contact with throught my process and some how, it made it through to the person it needed too. I was told I won my defferal and that I would be put back in to the process. After several months I was cleared and given my training date a little later.

So if at first you dont succeed.... TRY ,TRY ,TRY AGAIN

Keep your head up O div. :D

Hi Pen,

From what I read from other provinces the applicants go on ride alongs. In Ontario, is there something along that line? I would really like to get more involved as an applicant. Thanks

whitethunder, I have a question about your timeline. It's taken a long time to get through your process; were there any delays, or is this just the way it worked out. I notice there's a long period between your RPAB and your PARE. Is there any special reason, or should I make plans to spend the next 2 years on Ontario.

Thanks.
