Thanks for the encouragement. I'm trying to be positive but sometimes self-doubt sucks.

Nearing the end! Nice!

I just completed my PEP. Fingers crossed to a short wait versus a long one... but who am I kidding

My references started getting calls the day after my Background was initiated and were even getting calls over the long weekend! Looks like a lot of them are back from vacation so maybe they will try and push a bunch of people through!

Is there anywhere in/near Kamloops to do a practice PARE test? Or anywhere that has a push/pull machine?

Thanks

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I believe Surrey is the only place to practice. They will let you practice the day of your PARE. To be honest, I found the push pull component the easiest part of the PARE, but then everyone is different. When are doing the PARE? I'm doing my second one in Kelowna on Oct 2nd

Lepat offers practice testing in Abbotsford. I did my COPAT and SOPAT practice tests there, and felt very prepared when I ran the official test. Lepat also offers official testing for many of the organizations, but not RCMP. I was hoping to avoid a drive to the coast just for practice! I felt quite comfortable with the push pull at 50 lbs for the COPAT/SOPAT, but 70 or 80 lbs has me nervous (I'm quite short).

I want to do a practice test just to get more comfortable with it and the pacing, give me confidence the day of, and get a baseline now to see how much I can improve :)

For those of you who heard that the medical appointments were postponed due to budget cuts....apparently that's only happening in Ottawa.. I guess that's a bit of good news for us BC applicants. Anyone else out there still awaiting a medical appointment/psych?

Bracings wrote:Hi everyone!

I've finally taken the first steps to fulfilling my dream as a LEO. I've gone to an information session and I've had most of my questions answered. I recently applied online and clicked "submit". How long would you say the wait is before I get an email to register for the RPAT?

Any advice from those further along in the process would also be amazing!

I submitted my online application on September 5th. I received an automated e-mail on the 8th stating I had been selected to continue and that I would be contacted by a recruiter to provide selection package deadlines and to schedule PARE. I'm still waiting to receive my phone call from the recruiter however.

You might want to check your junk/spam folder for your e-mail inbox to see if it was possibly filtered there.
