Update: Received confirmation yesterday at 2:20 PM.BoltUp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 1:14 pmI haven’t.Azure_Mach1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 12:33 pmIs anybody else still waiting to hear confirmation that their forms have been received? I submitted mine a day late and have heard no confirmation yet. I have also emailed asking for a status update to ensure that I do not have anything outstanding and I haven't received a reply. I am not sure if my late submission negated their need for my forms, causing no confirmation email.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Seeing as a wave have received their invites, figured I might ask the question: what’s everyone’s experience with moving costs?
I don’t believe you are compensated correct?
Also, the CBSA does not help you as far as housing goes correct? That responsibility falls to us I would assume.
Any nice stories of being welcomed to a POE community? I don’t expect one really, but I might get proven wrong if anyone wants to share

You'll be reimbursed up to $5000 depending on the costs. Most of the time it isn't enough. I moved one province over. Rented a uhual and did all the physical moving myself, and maxed out. It was not difficult to get it, so that was good. Some peoples experience isnt so good, but like I said I did the moving myself so didn't require a lot from their end other than money.LobsterCop wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:45 pmSeeing as a wave have received their invites, figured I might ask the question: what’s everyone’s experience with moving costs?

CBSA is not responsibile for your housing. However, if you work somewhere like Beaver Creek or Pleasant Camp, there is housing on site that is subsidized. Often times if you reach out to your port, someone can usually help you out.
I was immediately welcomed at my port and was never once made to feel like "the new guy" or an FB02 or trainee. I was encouraged to be the officer I was trained to be and it didn't take long to adjust. My port is a small port, two man plus a supt. monday to friday. Some days we cook together and have shared meals. We talk about sports and life and get along fantastic.
I did however notice the "welcome package" was a bit lacking.. there was none.. so I, along with some other newer recruits from the wave after me started doing these get togethers for new recruits. COVID has messed that up a little, but it has been nice.

Has anyone who completed their medical through their own doctors in the November timeframe been reimbursed as of yet? I have sent a couple emails to inquire about it and have not even received a response.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
I'm still waiting to hear back from health canada with regards to my CATIII; my family doctor included extra information on the form and now it's a waiting game on my end to hear back; I hope I don't miss out on my offer for 16b; times are getting tougher so the stipend won't go too far. Did others need to have a phone appointment with someone from health canada?
Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Yes, I had a phone appointment with health Canada. It was quick and to the point...they just had a few more questions regarding my health.JayKay wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:18 pmI'm still waiting to hear back from health canada with regards to my CATIII; my family doctor included extra information on the form and now it's a waiting game on my end to hear back; I hope I don't miss out on my offer for 16b; times are getting tougher so the stipend won't go too far. Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Has anyone seen or heard of a new selection/application process opening up? I haven’t seen one for over a year and am wondering if I just missed it. I have my email alerts set up but am not sure if they are set up properly.

Hi all,
I found out this morning the next intake, 16B will be in April. Look for invites around the first of March.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Hey dude, a bilingual only poster was put up on November 30, 2020 but was taken down on December 2nd, 2020. The links to the poster did not work, so we couldn’t apply. It’s been status quo since then, but an encouraging sign that there’s a whole slew of recruitment events going on, albeit mostly for students.
