GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
That's great, thank you for the information.IronWolf wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 7:35 pmnot listed now on the actual test site, but here's what a history post in the forum shows :Zepedder wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 4:48 pmI received the same email today for being exempt. It further states that if you have valid results from the GCT 2-314 and WCPT-351 tests, you don't have to write it. I actually did those tests when I applied in 2014 before I received a deferral later in the process. Does anyone know how long those results would be valid for? I've tried searching but can't seem to find information.
Qc Applicant wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2013 12:22 pmNo problem!
We’ll see. I was just asked to submit proof of SLE Tests…
Also, since I already wrote them, I wonder about the validity of the following exams:
1.- WCPT-351
2.- GCT 2-314
Cheers
OK, I just found this (Again!):
9.- The retest period is 180 days (this means that you have to wait 180 days before taking the test again). If you re-take the test, only your most recent score will be used. If you are happy with your results and decide not to rewrite, your score on the GCT2 is valid indefinitely.

Not sure if it's a pass or fail since the email doesn't say it but it sounds like they have too many people in the pool and picking the best ones
Chill and do the test. Good luck !

Did your email say If you have to reply to do it? Also I'm glad not the only one . I believe this exam was not in the steps listed when I'd applied so I'm still uncertain if this means if you don't pass this step you move on but either way I see it as a positive sign that likely we will be going to rigaud next year sometime.Emak wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 11:41 pmI got the same email today.. Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Hi everyone,
I am brand new here and still trying to figure everything out, so please let me know if I do anything wrong (I know Reddit can be especially picky, so I like to be mindful).
I've actually been reading this forum casually since I was still deciding whether I even wanted to apply and here I am an ~official~ applicant now! I will try to figure out my signature to give anyone who answers a better idea of where I am at in the process, as I did the application process a little bass-ackwards. I have done my best to scroll through as many posts as possible to see if I can find my answer, but I will admit I didn't have much luck.
Onto my question(s), please let me know if this can be found elsewhere. Right now I am waiting for my medical evaluation, the OITP, and then off to Rigaud. Before the Covid I was supposed to be in the "summer intake" as per the email I received a few months ago. Let's pretend the covid doesn't exist for a second, does anyone know the time frame between OITP and Rigaud? I've seen some posts about two weeks notice for going to Rigaud? The reason I ask is because my current position has me contractually obligated to give three-weeks notice when I resign. In a perfect world, would I be better off putting in my notice prior to starting OITP?
Obviously I know this is probably allllll going to change. But a rough idea so I have literally anything to base it on would be very much appreciated. Also, if anyone has any tips or insight on what they are doing to maintain their physique post-PARE because I will go bananas if I have to do that a third time.
Nice to meet you all and best of luck in all of your processes

Hey everyone, I got a buddy who is going to OPC for June 28th. Has to quarantine for two weeks beforehand. While not CBSA it is good to see that these training institutions are starting back up, hopefully Rigaud starts back up within next month or two as well.

Many reported here that is 2 weeks.Jinkies wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 6:36 pm... does anyone know the time frame between OITP and Rigaud? You get that notice at the time you receive the invite for the online part, so it's at least 6-7 weeks before Rigaud you know when you will eventually go.
It seems you have enough time, 2-3 weeks into the online part you will see if you are on your way to pass (hopefully), and then you can advise your current HR in the last week of OITP.
But I would email CBSA HR about it, I am sure they get many questions of that kind and they are the best source.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Rigaud is back on June 28th. Wave A got the invite and they are going back and they graduate August 21st. Not sure if wave B or C will be at the college at the same time as Wave A. I was in wave b 5.5 weeks in when sent home. All they have told us is you will get an email stating that you are to come back and information on what to expect. But you will get this email at least with 4 weeks notice to give to your current employer or to just give 4 weeks to prepare to come back.
Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
In Feb I was asked to renew my PARE to be included in the summer intake, even though my PARE was valid until the end of June 2020. At the same time, my Medical CATIII was set to expire in May 2020 and they didn't mention it. At the beginning of March, I decided to email recruitment to get some clarity and they told me that they are working with Health Canada to determine if extensions can be granted to CATIII validity. I asked if I could just schedule a renewal appointment and they told me to continue to monitor my email for an update. When did they request that you renew your medical? I was hoping that I could just redo it, I'd really just prefer to have everything in my candidate file up to date.Kobi1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 8:03 amI did mine at the same location in April. It was the second one I had done as the previous one was set to expire this summer and they told me to redo it to make myself eligible for the summer intakes. I never received notification from CBSA until I emailed recruitment, the first time. The second time, I just asked the nurse and the doctor if everything looked good and they both said that it was a pass. The feeling I got was that barring anything major like near blind/ deaf or on the verge of a heart attack, most relatively healthy individuals pass. Needless qualifying statement: Not a doctor...Jumb34t wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 1:50 amJust did my CAT III assessment on the 19th this month but still haven't gotten any news. I was suppose to do it at a Health Canada office in Toronto but because they're closed for the month, I had to do it at a clinic in Hamilton (as per instructions from CBSA). Should I wait a little bit more or should I contact them now? And who exactly do I contact if that's the case?![]()
