Yes for sure Tornelco; Let's hope. But given how's it been six months that is discouraging. I am applying to TPS in November and I expect the whole recruitment to take three months, pass or fail.

is anybody aware of a # for CBSA recruiting?
I was also looking into some police services, a lot of them have pretty fast applications as you mentioned! The pay is better too and the day-to-day should be a lot more exciting. But I figure that if I'm going to apply for the CBSA twice and do the interview twice, I do not wanna lose that time and especially the effort (to prepare for the interview) that I invested.

My end goal is still policing but I'll be satisfied with the CBSA for a while. The CBSA has its own uniqueness, and will help prepare me for policing! And like I said, I'm too invested now!! :alright:
What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?

Approximate average number seems to be 18 :

"The average current length from application to appointment as an Officer Trainee (FB-02) is 18 months."
This time includes online and in-residence training, right?
Yup, then there's 12 to 18 months to become 03 and I saw some info they are looking to shorten that 12 months mandatory as 02 before becoming 03.

3 years is expected total time frame from application to 03. Long, but I bet is satisfactory once it's achieved :)

Nothing yet, but it’ll be 4 months in August since I had sent my papers in, so I’m keeping my 🤞🏽 that I’ll be one of the lucky ones. How about yours?

Nothing yet. I check the email I got from the clearance department saying that it could take any time from 3 months onward, you could be the lucky one which is 3 month. Lol...

Ya, even if I got a deferral for a municipal service; I feel like I'd still be in limbo with CBSA by the time my deferral expired lol.

I'm coming up on 7 months. Zero criminal history of course, no tickets etc 100% clear and I have yet to hear anything else. Also only one house within the past 10 years, not many jobs for them to look into either as I'm 22.

backlog is one reasonable explanation, I guess

Don’t forget a lot of it has to do with verifying stuff. It’s not so much “I didn’t do anything shady” therefore it should take the minimal amount of time. Connecting with employers, verifying gaps and all of the other aspects of security checks are still complicated but not from the perspective of not having your name come up in some sort of database. For all you know, they could have trouble verifying something as simple as you being who you say you are. Security checks use some of the same resources to get information as no-fly lists use. Seeing as they’ve banned literal babies, who can’t speak from flying, it’s possible that something is tripping the process up. It sounds trivial, but it’s a system with flaws like any other. Conversely, they may not have enough resources to get through the current influx of public safety security clearances. I’m sure you’ll be through it soon enough.

Slightly different and not for you and I don’t want to double post, but the same goes for the psych testing and process ordering. It’s less expensive to hire applicants and process them through a system that eliminates applicants in the less resource intensive stages. The OTEE takes time to formulate but once complete the rest is outsourced through an online platform and easy to complete. Seeing as a large portion fail this part it only makes sense to have it early on. The interview is the next portion and while far more resource intensive, it doesn’t require outsourcing to an institution that still has a cost whether it’s governmental or non-governmental.

Soon we’ll all get the chance to move to the next stage, whether that’s applying, reapplying, the next stage or finally being shipped out to Quebec and then some. Best advice I got was from one of these threads, just live your life as though the application isn’t a part of it. Travel, work/progress in another field whether it’s minimum wage, another higher paying job, school or what have you. Eventually, the time will come to move on, no sense in stressing over it.

Applied In Feb 2019 ,Passed OTEE in March 2019. And, nothing since then. How many are out there in this situation? And, will I get an answer if write to the CBSA asking them about the progress?
Help would be appreciated.
Cheers!
