Quick question.

Under Psychological Assessment on the Selection Process, it says "Results are valid for two years if you are found unsuitable", does that mean you can't get another psych assessment for another two years even after applying for the next earliest application available? If so, that's pretty steep

Hi all!

Long time lurker here, started my process in March 2016, finally got my invite to the online portion of the training.

I also just purchased a house, I am wondering what some of the people who have gone through training done financially to support themselves for the period of "unpaid" training?

Is there possibility of certain loans?

Also, once training is done, do we begin to get paid Immediately or should I take a certain period of added time into consideration to plan financially?

Thank you all for your help!
Excellent post Kevlar!

Yepz,

Kevlar is 100% correct. Anticipate 6 months from the start of Rigaud until your first pay cheque. (18 weeks training, 3 weeks turnaround time, 4-6 weeks for first pay cheque)

Yes it will have to be valid until your training date. If it expires in September and you don't have your clearance yet then I would say you'll have to renew it. The last intake of 2019 is August. Those invites might have gone out already or they will be very soon. You know the PARE is good for 18 months now right? Good luck in the process!
Wow, your timeline is insane! I feel bad for all the people who were in the process for 2-3 years that have to look at your timeline.
Yes ... I've been in the process since 2014. I failed the interview and had to wait 2 years. And then, they contacted me 9 months after I reaplied. I had my second interview in July 2018. And I've been through all steps excepted my clearance. I'm waiting for an invite. I thought that because I applied for a bilingual position it might be faster, but i'm wrong. I won't lose my faith in my dream ; becoming a BSO.
Good luck y'all :)

No. Unfortunately there are no specific dates that I'm privy to. I'm making blind predictions and hoping for the best lol. My new prediction is that next week the August invitations will be sent out. Book it! I've seen the almanac. I saw it just before I dropped my crystal ball😉
