I got an invitation earlier this week to start the online training module on December 23. Then, I may go to Rigaud on February 10. I will post my timeline because I'm not sure I'm dealing with the signature in the correct way:
Psych test: 2019-03
Security clearance: 2019/07 - 2019/09
Rigaud: 2019/02 (?)
I have replied to the invitation and now I'm waiting for the CBSA College to contact me.
OTEE: Oct, 2018
Interview: Jan, 2018
Psych Evaluation: April
Medical Evaluation: August
Security Clearance documents: May
Security Clearance interview/clearance: granted Oct
Thank you very much for the info!hoss1920 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:39 pmI completed my SLE (French) this year. You start off with the Reading Comprehension test which consists of 60 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. Then the Test of Written Expression is 65 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes.Extremely_Loud wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 11:49 amCan someone give me more information about the second language test?
I found some details about the format of the assessment on the Public Services Commission's website, but I imagine there could be a couple of differences when done during the CBSA's hiring process.
Are some parts of the test done online, as indicated? I suppose the oral evaluation must be done in person? Where do evaluations usually take place - and how long does it take? I'm living in a remote area - anybody in my situation that already did the test?
I did some research on the forum, but I didn't find anything... Thanks!
If you achieve at least a B on both tests CBSA will schedule you for the Oral testing. The oral test involves listening to some recordings then explaining the content and answering some questions from your assessor. You also talk with your assessor about yourself. They will ask you some questions. It takes about 40 mins.
I signed up with a language school to practice before my exams. Well worth it. I'm not sure I would have pulled off my BB without their prep.
For the first two exams you are in a room with hundreds of government employees from various departments. Everyone needs to re certify every 5 years unless they get an exemption. Nothing is done online. I did my exams in some giant government of Canada building in Gatineau.

You won't have to wait 4-6 weeks. Took me 5 business days to get the results of both my competency interviews.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the pysch.. you can’t really prepare for it, a long multiple choice test then a sit down interview ranging 30 min - hour. Good luckumar99 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:19 pmHi Guys! I passed my Interview back in July from Toronto area and just waiting for my psychological assessment interview...can someone let know if they have a similar timeline as me and also if someone shed some light on psychological assessment. Much appreciated and good to yall!
Recently decided to put some interest into the CBSA. Worked in corrections and now working as a Special Constable but looking at options still. Not sure when the last posting was but I was curious if there’s been any word on a possible date for a new one to come about?
I’m going to look at maybe attending an info session to get a feel but my cousin loves his job working at Pearson for the last 4 years.
I even have the alerts set up on my Gov. account but just thought I’d ask the question. Thanks in advance!
