Can someone give me more information about the second language test?

I found some details about the format of the assessment on the Public Services Commission's website, but I imagine there could be a couple of differences when done during the CBSA's hiring process.

Are some parts of the test done online, as indicated? I suppose the oral evaluation must be done in person? Where do evaluations usually take place - and how long does it take? I'm living in a remote area - anybody in my situation that already did the test?

I did some research on the forum, but I didn't find anything... Thanks!
I completed my SLE (French) this year. You start off with the Reading Comprehension test which consists of 60 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. Then the Test of Written Expression is 65 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes.

If you achieve at least a B on both tests CBSA will schedule you for the Oral testing. The oral test involves listening to some recordings then explaining the content and answering some questions from your assessor. You also talk with your assessor about yourself. They will ask you some questions. It takes about 40 mins.

I signed up with a language school to practice before my exams. Well worth it. I'm not sure I would have pulled off my BB without their prep.

For the first two exams you are in a room with hundreds of government employees from various departments. Everyone needs to re certify every 5 years unless they get an exemption. Nothing is done online. I did my exams in some giant government of Canada building in Gatineau.

Thank you very much for the info!

Is the medical request in a separate email? I have not seen anything and submitted my security paperwork a week ago.
Yeah I haven't either. I submitted mine early November after the results...

Were you part of the Psych testing in Toronto in September?

I have seen results received from 1 to 8 weeks , as others said - be patient (I know it's hard) and wait.

Is anyone else part of the December OITP in take and February 10th Rigaud start just trying to see if anyone else received an email today about getting your information by December 19th. Also hoping to get to know some people before heading to Rigaud. Thanks in advance.

Awesome interview today that went exactly how I thought it would go; only 20 minutes too. Now to wait 4-6 weeks to see if my answers meets the interviewers answers.
Five laps owed so far

29 Mar - OTEE pass
28/29 Apr - CRFSC/CFSC pass
31 Dec - Interview pass

You won't have to wait 4-6 weeks. Took me 5 business days to get the results of both my competency interviews.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the pysch.. you can’t really prepare for it, a long multiple choice test then a sit down interview ranging 30 min - hour. Good luck

Hey folks,

Recently decided to put some interest into the CBSA. Worked in corrections and now working as a Special Constable but looking at options still. Not sure when the last posting was but I was curious if there’s been any word on a possible date for a new one to come about?

I’m going to look at maybe attending an info session to get a feel but my cousin loves his job working at Pearson for the last 4 years.

I even have the alerts set up on my Gov. account but just thought I’d ask the question. Thanks in advance!
