I just got an email also giving me until May 29 for the PARE - now to find someplace that will be open by then for testing.
Where do you live?

It’s anyones guess if PARE locations will be open, even by the end of May!?!
I’m in Alberta.
Ok..
I’m in Halifax, the local spot here that does testing is also shut down until further notice.
Just a side note- the instructor told me he’s never completed so many CBSA PARE tests in the previous few months as any time in the last 10 years.

For those with expiring medicals in the coming weeks / months. After asking...I received an email from recruitment stating that they have contacted Health Canada regarding the potential for extensions on Cat III but have yet to receive confirmation. They also mentioned that they would be in touch with those who could potentially be affected by that change.

Stay safe everyone and amazing job being done by all the BSO’s out there!! It’s times like this, although very scary, you want and train to be there working the front lines and doing all you can to help keep your country safe!!

Got my medical done prior to the state of emergency beginning of March but good to know they are going to stay in touch with everyone especially considering I've finished all their steps and if I don't make it in time for this year there is a possibility to extend expiry dates of tests

It’s encouraging for sure :) hopefully they are able to make something along those lines work since they are already behind now on training...Having as many candidates ready to go will only benefit them moving forward!

I'm still hoping for a August intake or a extension of people who have met all requirements to next year . In the meantime I have job which is unaffected due it being a essential service.

That is good. I should do it as well. It seems that I will need to renew my pare.

Hi friends,

I recently contacted my local college where the PARE test is held - their next test date is April 15th, CBSA asked me to complete the PARE by May 8th. Unfortunately the one at the college near me is cancelled due to COVID and I was told colleges are closed until September. I have no where near me that does tests that ARENT inside of colleges... is my only option to wait?

I'm hopeful that they will extend the deadline - (mine is May 29), and its looking doubtful by then as well.

I'm assuming this maybe the case since no new update emails were sent to me, likely a pause in the system to give everyone a fair chance
