Does anybody else keep getting notifications that they can't post here because their IP addresses are blocked for spam? I have no clue why this keeps happening to me but it's becoming aggravating.
Next time this happens, type in your address box whatismyip.com. Send me a PM with the IP address. I will take care of it.

Anyone have experience with corrections here? I am a correctional officer and so far moving forward with CBSA as I applied to this agency at the same time as CSC. My question is to anyone with experience - is it as stressful as corrections? I go into work with some sort of anxiety and deal with it throughout the day; I assume it's normal and a lot of people say it is... is it the same with CBSA? is it as stressful as corrections? Thanks guys.
I have been a BSO for almost 5 years, it is nowhere near as stressful as corrections from what I have heard from my colleagues who have made the switch. With CBSA, you maybe encounter 2% of people who are considered "bad people", 98% of people are everyday travellers. Depending where you go obviously changes the statistics, but I can confirm I work at the busiest port in Canada and I have yet to have an issue. Granted, it is stressful for reasons not involving travellers...
Former SBSO turned full-time BSO. I've been through it all and happy to share my experiences with others looking to get into CSBA as a temporary or full-time career.

A question to all of your who participate/reply to this thread, in your opinions, how old is too old to apply for this job?

I know age has no bearing whatsoever during the selection and PoE placement process, but I'm still curious to know what you guys think.
I'm 47. A little late to the table but I've passed all of the steps and just awaiting an invite
Definitely not an age that is considered too old. There are a lot of officers, especially at airports of entry that are well into their 40s/50s who have either been with the Agency since it's beginning or who have made career changes. Don't take this as a negative! :D

Exactly! I've worked with Student BSOs that are in their 30's and 40's and new OITPs that are late 30's early 40's. The biggest thing is take care of your physical health while at Rigaud, and be sure to stretch well before and after CDT! Look at your age as extra life experience! Good luck!

cbmcmsa and Galadriel0718, thank you very much for the kind words and encouragment ! It definitely reinforces my decision to apply and work my tail end off once the CBSA lists a new Officer Trainee Developmental Program posting hopefully sometime this year :D In my case, it's a complete career change and I am so ready for the challenges and excitement that this process will bring!

Best of luck to you in the (painfully long) process - don't be afraid to reach out in case you need anything or have any questions!

Hello guys just a quick question:

After doing the medical do we get any email from Doctors office, CBSA or Health Canada or NO? regarding the medical results? and if yes then whats the current time period these days.

Thanks in advance guys.

I didn’t get anything. I asked the doctor and she told me I was good to go.
I got an email and a letter in the mail.

Oh Mylanta!!! It FINALLY happened! I did my security interview on October 31, 2017. Security was the last thing left I had to get through. I got an email today that I got my clearance. Now I wonder how many steps I’ll have to retake...

Yes, they do, but not to the same extent as a full-time employee ($10k). You will get $5k, however, will have to provide proof of everything aside from meal allowances and gas/mileage and they're not the fastest at getting it to you between the 2 weeks of graduation and reporting to your POE.
