I have gotten the same email with 16 in them what does that number mean does it have a direct correlation with what intake class you will be in???

Hi,

I’ve mostly been a spectator on this site, but I’ve decided to get involved in the community as I do have some questions which can hopefully be answered and maybe I can give back sometime as well.

Has anyone else been bounced around the pools? I would assume they mix up some pools with some interviews/assessments because my emails have said I’ve been in pool 14,15,16 and 18. My first email said I was in 15 but it’s tough to get an idea of which pool you will be in for Rigaud.

My timeline has been quite long and I’ve been quite patient, so I’m really hoping to hear soon. I would love to be able to anticipate which class/pool at Rigaud I could potentially go in to get excited for.

Thanks!
Hasn't happened to me but I did get an email for both 16 and 18 in the title but the body has 15, 16, and 18 in it. The very first email I got says I'm part of pool 18.

Your timeline looks like you should be getting your clearance soon though. Good luck :D
Almost all of my emails have 15 in them only two had a mention of 16 in them. I was told last year in November I would be in winter term and never heard anything. Waited till almost a year since hearing from them and someone emailed me back and said I was ready for OITP and my invite would be sent out November-December. If I don’t get in this winter. I’ll
Have to redo medical again third time. Pare again and psychological testing. Good luck all.

That sounds extremely frustrating, I'm sorry to hear that. I really wish they gave us more insight into why the process takes so unbearably long compared to other agencies and why some recruits seemingly breeze through it in a year. It's getting frustrating waiting so long for an interview, I didn't think "in the coming months" equated to almost a year.

I don’t have much confidence about the 32kg push/pull
:(

Now I go to run for 1.8km + work out every night, pulling 28.75 kg now for 15 mins....

Can you share how do you train for PARE and how many months?

Hey, you got this !

First, you could refer to : https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/job-emploi/ ... e-eng.html (for training plan)

Running: 3 times a week would be good. 1xTempo run (good speed so about 7/10 for more and more time and speed afterwards, 1x speed run (couple of short distance laps but with very good speed and short rest) and 1x a long run ( Easy cadence and speed, goal is simply to have mileage)

Gym: You could refer to the link, get a trainer or get a gym pass ( group class are always fun in general and not too expensive vs private one)

Then nutrition, set you own goals and expectations. I try to eat light meals every 3-4h to avoid being hungry :)
Apply: August 18
OTEE: September 18 - PASS
Interview: December 18 - PASS
PARE: January 19- PASS
Psych : April 19 - PASS
Sec papers: Sent April 19
Med Evaluation: May 19 - PASS
Clearance: July 19 - PASS
OITP: February 2020
Rigaud: Unconfirmed

Any circuit training will help with muscular endurance and strength building. Would recommend finding a full body program that you can do as the entire PARE requires strength from all areas of the body. Continue with cardio after workouts as well (you will boost some cardio as well with circuit training if you use appropriate rest times vs workout times) Another thing that really aids in the push/pull is practicing form and foot work. Last thing you want is to be using muscles that aren’t meant to be used or trip over your feet.
Pull: Sitting back like you are sitting on a chair but keeping your core engaged and back straight, footwork helps as well. Use a bit of your body weight to hold back as well but not too far (should be slight passed 90 degrees with you back and hips).
Push: drive forward with your hips and legs keeping your back straight and not bent, knees slightly bent.. Then keep arms bent slightly but not straight. Engage your core use a bit of body weight for support once set in the position.

Keep at it, keep pushing and practice your form (makes a huge difference) and you will get there eventually. Take the time to train before attempting it.

Good luck!

I’m not frustrated at the least only because my aunt and uncle work for the cbsa and pretty much said the strategy is don’t have one. Live life, be a good human and your time will come. My aunt said it may get frustrating you want to give up or feel like you are being passed over but in the end if it’s what you want it will come together when it’s supposed to not when you wish it.

I know we are human and I check my email regularly I just hope that this year being told I’m ready for OITP it happens. If not I’ll just have to re do somethings.

All the best to everyone

Well as long as I am not the only one bouncing around!

I sure hope so... I’ve been chomping at the bit waiting for quite a while.
We are similar timelines however I feel that because I have not received a response yet I'm guessing i didn't get through.
