When were you granted security clearance?

I was granted security clearance in May
So you got an email saying you’re ready for invites? You didn’t actually get an invite?

No I sent an email asking about an email last year saying I would be invited for winter term. All they sent back is I am ready for OITP invites which would be going out November and December.

So not officially invited but still excited.

Woah! what about YOUR time line Jeagle10! Your are on the fast track, for sure! :D The invite is coming soon!
Hey Box, I see your PARE sig finally got upgraded from you "working on it!!", congrats and hope your next stage is soon!

Hey! Captain! :D You don't miss one!! You are SO right! My PARE is ...done!! What a relief..The old man finally made it! After a year of proper training and 3 practice run, i decided to go for the real test on october 8. I would say it was one of the greatest achievement in my life (top 5?) At my age, and at the physical condition that i used to have, I improved a looot ! Now, like many others here...i'm waiting for my security clearance. I'm also waiting for the medical evaluation and..the SLE. It is another big step for me...i would say SLE can be the biggest problem to me to overcome. I don't have any partner to chat with, and improve my english.
Congrats on your achievement. Keep up the training. Going into Rigaud with the same level of fitness you had when you did your PARE will help a lot. Unfortunately I didn't have the same level as I went a year between PARE and Rigaud, and suffered pretty hard for the first few weeks. Don't be like me. Rigaud is not the place to get in shape. Regardless, congrats on your achievement.

I never had a physician sign any papers for the PARE, I filled them out myself. you also don’t have to do the pare next by the way.. just have to have it done before Rigaud! I say this because some people are showing very long timelines and the PARE is only valid for 18 months, just something to think of!

Thanks for your reply!

But in the email with interview pass result, it doesn’t mention about the next step, only prepare for PARE and:

“We look forward to including you in the next steps of this selection process.”

I’m a bit confused! :?:

Just a random question for the people who have already finished their training in Rigaud. Is there a big graduation ceremony at the end that your family can attend? Police college seems to have a big one and a dinner/party at the end with your bf/gf/spouse. Just wondering if cbsa is similar!

There is a ceremony, yes. You get two tickets to the event for guests. There's no formal dinner or anything. The ceremony is quite small in comparison to other agencies. The only way to have additional guests to attend are to ask your friends if they'll list a guest for you, assuming they aren't using their seats.

If your confusion is about the lack of next direction, I can make that easy for you. If they do it the same way they did for me, you're probably waiting to have your psyc evaluation scheduled. The reason they didn't book you in is that they're likely waiting for a group of pass results from whatever region you're in so they can get you done as a group.

I would say start training for the PARE now, but hold off on doing it until they've sent you the paperwork for your security clearance. Once you've sent that in, do your PARE. On average, it doesn't take 18 months between your clearance and Rigaud (it does happen, though). Worst case scenario you gotta re-do the pare. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Also, whether or not you can get a doctors signature outside the country, that's a good question. That much I've never heard anyone try to do. I know some people haven't had to get it filled out. I did, but I had a family doctor do it for me.

If you're talking about the Medical Clearance Form, I had to pay to get that done just to find out that I didn't need it to do the PARE back in Aug 2019. You should contact whoever is doing the PARE test to see if you are required to get it done or not.

Curious question for those who are currently officers:

When you were invited to Riguad, were you given your Points Of Entry prior to Riguad? Or only when you were at the college did recruits know where they were heading?

If the latter, was it kind of like, "these are the POE's available for this Intake wave, pick and choose" or "recruit A, you're heading here, recruit B, you're heading there, etc."

Thanks!
You find out approx. Week 9, picking on week 10.
You will have no idea what ports are available going in, but if it's anything like this past year,

approx 10 for GTA
8 for Southern Ontario
8-10 for BC
10 for Prairies
2-4 for Northern Ontario
1-2 Atlantic

I couldn't comment on what was on the bilingual lists, but that's an approximate breakdown/average of what was on the English list from Wave A-C 2019

Hope this helps.

Are there any Ontario postings east of GTA which are English Essential or are they all Bilingual Essential?

I'm in Ottawa and applied in December 2018, still no word on an interview date. If you don't mind my asking, did you list yourself as bilingual on your application? Also did you get to have your interview in Ottawa or did they make you travel?
