I have a question for the people who are waiting for their security clearance,

It states that the security clearance process could take anywhere from 3 month to forever. Have you thought of what if it never come or 2-3 years? Do you keep on waiting or working on a plan B? I am currently in this process for almost 5 month, I keep asking myself this question. To be honest, CBSA is my first and only choice, however what if does not happen? Maybe I am just too negative now. The more time I am waiting for it, the worst it gets.
I totally understand, it's hard not to get negative. As stated in other posts, I've been in this process for three years. Five years if I count the first time I applied and was deferred for two years. My advice is to pursue other areas of interest in addition to CBSA and to not base life/career decisions around this process.

I waited 6 months from sec. papers to integrity interview and now it has been over 2 months since my integrity interview and waiting to see if I would get my clearance. I know the waiting game is hard but at the end of the day i just go about my regular day and try not to think about it. Although I do currently have a good stable job which I guess helps.

Also you can tell yourself that you are probably not the only one in this boat everyone has to wait some is longer then others that all. :D

For myself I just hope this Friday is the friday I get the clearance email. :D

Cheers

Every now and then, in response to those who are playing the waiting game and getting restless, one of the best pieces of advice I've ever read was on these forums. And that is:

Live your life.
You'll torture yourself if you're constantly waiting by the phone/checking your emails 100 times a day (although it can't be helped). Work, volunteer, continue to do what ever that is you do. Keep plugging in. Take whatever opportunities that come your way, and enjoy any small victories you can, as the big ones are few and far in between. Take that vacation, accept that offer, and always enjoy the company of the friends and family you have. Because you never know. Life happens. And it may or may not take you to different places.

Of course, I often like to remind myself if this, cuz I get restless too lol.

Keep plugging in, and eventually, greatness will come.
