From what I have seen, 5 days notice is fairly standard.

I got an email today for testing on Monday in Fredericton NB.

Good luck to all who are testing :)

Received a grammatically-challenged email from CBSA on Tuesday afternoon (Aug 13) for 2 written exams in Montreal on Thursday morning (Aug 15th). Whoa, 36 hours notice, gimme a break.

Told them I have since moved out of province. They asked for my new address (I gave it to them) and told me they'd be in touch soon. No news since. Has anyone found themselves in the same situation?

Cheers,

Le Douanier

Hey, I wrote the tests today in Fort Erie too.

How do you think it went?

I think I did pretty good! At least on the GCT 2.

Who knows about the WCPT!

There was an email a few months back asking people to reapply, some sort of error in the system. The email said all current applications would be closed.
You might want to check if your application is still open.

There is testing scheduled for the Aug 20, at St Mary's in Halifax, for those of you that are from the region and are wondering if they made it to the testing stage.

Got an email today scheduled to take the test on Aug 20th in Calgary, I'm from Edmonton and scheduled to work that day... Could not make it so hoping recruitment would reconsider if I reschedule my testing date.... crossing my fingers

I think both were pretty hard to be honest hah!. I just hope I got over the passing grade for both.

If you read their email in full, they seem to be very explicit about the allowable reason(s) for not showing up.
"Please note that only one alternate testing session date will be set, if required. Requests for an alternate date will only be considered for one of the following reasons:

Religious obligations;
Death in the family;
Serious illness;
Planned vacation with costs already incurred

A medical certificate or other proof will be required. If you require an alternate assessment date for one of the above-mentioned reasons, please contact us immediately. "
[i]

Same. I already had a pass score for the WCPT but it was only 1 mark over pass. And if I know the CBSA, they will do a top down scoring process so the people who JUST passed it will be dead last to get an interview (if they don't have all the positions filled by then).

Hopefully I can do a few points better than I did the first time around. It's just hard to tell with that WCPT. Sometimes it seemed pretty obvious, but others it seemed like there were a couple good options haha.

Maybe I just felt good after the GCT because I've written the GRT (graduate recruitment test) before. That exam has pretty much the same type questions on it but it seems 10000x harder.

I was in a different CBSA competition before for a non BSO job.

They did top down selection for the SJT and I was in the very last group to get interviewed because my score was just barely a pass. Had they filled all the positions before they got to me, I wouldn't have even had that chance.

BSO is so hyper competitive that I am assuming they will do that again. And since the next group of recruits will be 150 for all of Canada, you gotta do things to make yourself a bit better than the competition!

I'm pretty confident I passed it again though. Even a +2 or 3 counts.
