I applied last year and was discouraged not to get in. I have an environmental studies degree as well as various amounts of experience. However I’m only 25. Could that be the reason? Also will they be hiring this time of year again?
Who discouraged you?

Just discouraged that I didn’t get in. I’m very passionate about this field and want to get into it.
Don't be discouraged, that's what this process does, just got to keep at it. I'm on my second attempt through right now, and if it doesn't work this time, I will be applying for a third time. If this is what you're passionate about then keep at it. You will figure it out one way or another and be successful. Ask for feedback along the way and if you aren't successful find out what you need to do to get better.

Thx for the advice. I just missed the application deadline. As I checked a day late. I hate how there’s a very tight window and no notice.

Hi! Pretty quiet on here lately. I'm assuming know has got any new and exciting news?...Any idea if you get accepted into Depot this February when you would hear that by? I would hope that would give a month.

When I last spoke to my recruiter, the word was that we’d hear IF we’re accepted to this training troop (keep in mind successful names stay in the pool for up to two years) we’ll hear somewhere between the last two weeks in December and the first two weeks in January. I hope this is helpful to you rhino!

For anyone who applied to the lasted posting, they are starting to reach out for stage one. Got the email yesterday.

Good luck to those going through the latest process! Feel free to contact if you’ve got questions! I’m currently waiting for the call to go to depot

Someone from my troop was posted there but I don't think they are on here.

I didn’t see it but is there a PARE required at some point during the process?

Also, what is the overtime like?

The PARE was a requirement when I went through. I believe it is still a requirement.

The overtime depends completely on the detachment you work out of.

Are there any serving officers I can ask some questions regarding requirements? I sent an email to DFO as per the link on the DFO website to ask questions. I'm assuming due to holidays, I'm not getting a response.
Anyone can PM me, I'd be greatly appreciative!

Congrats! Did you find out dates and locations for training?

Has anyone in Central Arctic heard anything yet?

Hey man!
Online training for me starts January 13 and then we need to report to Halifax for feb. 2-8 and then regina for the remaining 15 weeks was what I was told anyway. Have you heard anything yourself?
