I am hoping to be in Hamilton for the training by no later than September, fingers crossed. I am going to call recruiting to see what kind of score I received. This is only a prelude to update them on a recent career change I made and to let them know my current resume status.
Apollo: Do you know if preference is given to someone who passed with a stronger score/mark as opposed to someone who
passed with a weaker score/mark? Like the CSC "top down" method they used to use for the cognitive abilities test?

I can't see a test score hindering you in court, you may have been fed a line by someone who really does not know. The Defense could always request them if they wanted but serves no real purpose. It would be more of a privacy or policy thing, and if you wanted them that bad you could make a FIPPA request and get them. You passed so who cares what the score was.

Okay here's a question hopefully one of you Corrections types can answer, because I'm confused on it.

Provincial Bailiffs, and the OPP OTU, are they the same thing with different names, or are they two different occupations? If they are two different occupations what do the bailiffs do? I know what the OTU does.

It's all so confusing lol

OTU are run and adminstered by the OPP.

Bailiffs are run and adminstered by the Ministry of Correction.

OTU transport prisoners to and from court for the most part.

Bailiff will transport as well to and from court or between Institutions.

They are the same positions in essence, just with different outfits.

OTU was designed to save money, each Police service would charge Corrections a per KM rate for prisoners picked up. MapleHurst for example would have had multiple Police Forces picking up prisoners and then charging it back to the Province. The OTU would pick up for a large number of these Police Forces and charge a lower rate as they are picking up more bodies at a time. When I was there, the program was saving around 12 to 20 million a year.

This is not looking good. Already more than a year since I submitted my application. I should have done this 6 years ago when I was still in high school :D

You might want to check whether your application is still active given that more than 1 year has elapsed. In any event, submit an updated application and maybe that will jog MCSCS' memory.

Use your Special Constable Certificate and apply to GO Transit Special Constable Service. Don't waste time, as MCSCS will take forever with everything. So better off to apply for S/Cst and CO, see which ever one will call you first. Good luck!!

Yeah I already called MCSCS and they said that they are overcrowded with applications and that if I do not hear anything from them by the end of April to just apply again. In any case, I have my thumbs crossed that something will give.

P.S. I did apply to Go Transit and York Transit, we'll see if they call.

Also Toronto Housing will be hiring Special Constable as well in the near future.

I've been on the site, where do I apply? Just mail in my resume/cover letter, or is there a package I need to send in?
