For anyone that doesn't know the province just announced a pandemic raise for all of Frontline workers.

That's pretty sweet, they deserve this bonus. I wish we feds can also have it, but I don't think we will get it.
Good for you.

Thanks

Why would they come back ?

I have heard of it and seen it.

From what I understand it all depends how long since a person has left. 1-2 years appears you need to go back to the college to re-train

Then I heard it is up to the Superintendent

Tell your friend if they want the job back to do all the leg work. Tell them to call HR and to ask form themselves on how to get back.

The grass isn’t greener on the other side always.

We need causal as full time needs their time off !

Yes it's possible you would start at the lowest pay scale but with the same seniority. Contact the jail superintendent about wanting to be rehired we have had atleast 5 people recently come back. A lot easier when you took a leave of absence as they HAVE to give you your job back but if you didn't it's totally situational.

Thanks for the valuable info.

Dont think she took a leave of absence.

HR also said that you would have to reapply to a Corrections 1 position to ge rehired and that there are no postings available at this time.

Does anyone have the superintendents name and email address for the OCDC (Ottawa) and the Brockville Jail?

All due respect, why are you doing all this leg work for your friend. Sounds like you want the job more then her.

Red flag here.

And you are a CO That appears to be Thunder Bay jail.
How about asking your union.

And, you had to use the ministry webpage to find this.

Use your internal email book to find it

Because I can, and if I could ask the union I would and if I could check on outlook i would.

So dont make stupid comments if you dont know. I am asking because i also want to know.

If you dont have an answer to my question then keep walking.

You irritate me with all your negative comments over the years on this forum.

I did see a CO at OCDC left correction for probation officer job and come back to OCDC as a CO after 1 year.
So, yes, it is possible.
But the downside is that his seniority was bumped back and he will need longer time for to get a full time position, because lots of other casual COs surpassed him on the seniority.

Gu that particular officer left on a secondment which does not apply in this situation he was "borrowed" by another part of the government agency.

I’m sorry you think I am giving negative comments when they are actually myself speaking the truth and no BS.

Go ask your union, that is why you pay dues.

This site is based on persons that are in the process looking for help and want questioned ask.

I can also tell you as a rookie/causal, all transfer are on hold.

I once was a dumb rookie but had great support to see the mistakes I was doing and learned how not to make them just like you.

Good to know. As he left for probation right before I started at OCDC and came back to OCDC about 3 weeks before I left OCDC, so I was not even aware of that he left on a secondment basis.
So you are right, this cannot be a reference to the case. Thank you for pointing out and the correction :-)

Ps: how is OCDC? I heard hours are getting low due to the pandemic. Have you completed ur CBSA process? Say hi to other OCDC officers for me, tell them I may visit OCDC in summer and show up with GU BREW :-)
