On a different note, has anyone at Escort Base seen the new Ford Transit Prisoner Vans? They didn't go with the really high roof model did they?

I was asked to get my CRC completed. My references have also been checked.

It was by email including a letter to give to the local police service. I still had to pay, they do not waive CRC fees for employment purposes, at least not here.

HI all,
New to the forum.
I am looking to be come a BC sheriff. I have a criminology degree and am interested in the court system and law enforcement.
I am a 45 year old women. My back ground is as a marine engineer so I have done a lot of traveling, but would like to switch careers. I am physically fit and have nothing terrible in my background.
Do you think my age will knock me out of the running to be a candidate for training? Or are they looking for people with some (maybe a lot) of life experience? Any advice would be welcome
You honesty would be appreciated.

Positive results from the interview for me as well. I was not prepared for all the questions, but it worked out in the end. References have also been checked and I have been asked to provide a CRC too.

I passed on applying for the last posting because I wasn't sure being a sheriff was something I wanted to do, but now I'm wondering if that was a mistake and if I should get my class 4 and SFA for the next round. My primary career goal is a stable, long-term position, which I know the Sheriffs provide, and I would love to work in one of the specialized units, particularly traffic; my big concern is that I'm not sure if i would enjoy working court protection, which I would obviously have to do for years before getting into another field. Could someone with experience provide info on the realities of that duty, and whether it's interesting and has variety? I don't want to get into a position I don't like because it just consists of standing at the door of the courthouse all day, but that can't be all there is to it if people enjoy working there so much.
