Buddy of mine that transferred to my agency from ERC said it was like that across the board in Edmonton though. EPS, Edmonton Remand and Sheriffs couldn't hire enough/keep people there.

Not surprising when you can walk across the street and double your salary working the oilfields.

It was hard leaving Fort Mac for SolGen but it's not all about the money, I'm home with my family most nights, got a good career, my body is not paying for that big pay cheque

For anyone that would be interested there is a continuous recruitment posting for Law Court Sheriffs Province wide. The dept. is still attempting to fill the March 2014 Class. Posting can be found on the Alberta government Job website.

Do you know which locations are short staffed? Any in the south?

Thanks

We are hiring Province Wide as positions need to be filled throughout the Province. If you apply and get to the interview that is where you can give your choices
ie-Southern Alberta, if thats what you would prefer.

just a follow up question- i assume they will have a future class in around june/july??

what if you get an offer from HR but can't leave your current employment and/or exit the country in time to get to the march class?? would they then keep your offer in place until the next class?? at this point it would be really tight for me to get all the exit processes done in time- and i am committed to work in pakistan for the next 3 weeks, so it would mean coming back to the UAE, packing, and leaving...

i am sure they have had others who had to finish current contracts or prior commitments etc.. and had to delay until future classes..

thoughts??? don't want to miss my chance or this window of opportunity, and would this screw things up...

This is something you are going to have to ask HR if/when it happens. None of us know why they do the things they do, and often the answers to questions like this change from week to week.
