Anyone got any insight on the TTC special constable job and opportunities to grow into different specialized units within? Recently got invited to the first stage with them and want to know more about TTC and the Transit Enforcement job. Currently a correctional officer looking for something different. Feel free to send me a pm!

I know the OPP Special Constable recruitment timeline will be different for each application. I am curious if anyone can tell me roughly what they have witnessed or experienced for a time line. I am trying to see when would be the best time to apply based on my current employment.

Thank you

People get hired at different rates at different times. Just apply when you feel ready but I would think OPP are about 2-4 months like their PC hiring.

Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to study for the special constable ATS ?

I tried to look if there were any text books like they have for the Police ATS but no luck

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Have you tried looking at 'Test Ready Pro', they have all sorts of practice exams/tests to study from. Although you'll have to pay for it (I believe its between $100-$199 depending on the course).
- PATI, WCT, VIDEO SIMULATION, PREP TRAINING COURSE
- RCMP RPAT TEST PARE & CAREER PREPARATION COURSE
- CFAT/ECFAT TEST & CAREER PREPARATION COURSE
- GATB PRACTICE TESTING/SPECIAL CONSTABLE TESTING
- CBSA CANADA BORDER SERVICES (GCT2) / CSC TEST PREPARATION

I think you'll be fine, I completed ATS 2 years ago and now working with Carleton U.

Best of luck.

Has anyone gotten word back from Go Transit for their special constable application? I did their technical test in December right before the holidays, and they told us whoever passes(75%) would get an interview in time. I got an email stating I had passed and to sit tight and wait, and that was in early/mid January. Nothing as of yet.

Wondering if anyone's heard back.

just got invited to do some testing with Hamilton Police Services for a Special CST position (court services). Dont really know what to expect as far as testing. Would love to brush up before going in. Any information as what to expect would be greatly appreciated. DM or post is fine.

Thanks in advance.

Would anyone be able to provide any insight as to when McMaster University may be looking for more specials?

Mac only hires PT now. No benefits, no pension, etc..

If you want a steady gig, try other universities or transit services.

Lots of police agencies also mostly hire contract specials.

Yes, but as I said above, there's better alternatives.

In regards to Mac, you need to ask yourself why they are constantly hiring every few months....staffing levels aren't increasing (like GO or TTC)...... so why the turnover? Food for thought.

I always wonder why they don't hire them as part-time/casual or if/when needed as opposed to contract. Then, they don't have to worry about training and whatnot since they already have Specials on staff.

That's a pretty good point...

Most need SC or PC ATS. SC one uses GATB.
