Hey guys,
I got invited to do the Special Constable Component in Ottawa. I'm not to sure what i should be studying or how to prepare for them. Any tips?

I've done Windsor's process with them and was given the boot because they chose someone over me.
Any help would be great.

Thanks!

I've tried to find the following information but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

If anyone here works for or is related to OC transpo or Ottawa police specials...

I am currently employed as an out of Ontario university special constable with peace officer status and I'm wondering those agencies accept laterals hires without the ATS cert.

If anyone has inputs about it with other s. cst agencies in Ontario, that would be appreciated.

I can only speak for Housing in Toronto. We accept status but still require a Physical Assessment.

Thanks,

Do you know if they ask for any specific documents upon application?

OPS will still require ATS - serving or not.
TTC - if serving peace officer will not require ATS.
U of T - if serving peace officer will not require ATS.
GO Transit - will still require ATS.
Wilfred Laurier University- if serving peace officer will take valid FitPin vs ATS.
TPS - will still require ATS.

***Most services, unless you've been a police officer will require ATS***

Hi everyone,

I am interested in becoming a special constable, and read about the required qualifications.
I seen that 2 of 3 ATS tests are GATB and WPT, and there are multiple paid online resources to help you prepare for them.

Can anyone recommend me which website would be best to pay for preparation.

Also I understand that the WPT is to assess if you are capable of writing briefs, reports, notebooks, etc. I have zero exposure to these types of materials.....can I even find these materials online? I want to get an idea of the writing style, vocab, etc so I can do well in the WPT.

Thank you

I suggest Police Prep. It has been a valuable tool for many.

Try looking at the Canadian Police Knowledge Network. They offer civilian courses for a small fee. Courses ranging from $20 - $50 and upwards of $200. They offer report writing and notebook courses. Send them an email for more details. That should wet your whistle.

Asking anyone that has done the ATS Special Constable test.

Approximately how many questions are there on the GATB special constable test.

How much writing is required for the WPT (my understanding is it's 25 mins long), and if you could please give me an example topic question.

Thank you,
