Hi there.
Congrats to everyone who got a conditional letter.

I'm earlier on in my process - just got the invite for my CTP Stage 1.
As you know, you get 1 month to do this CTP 1 online course.

My questions:

How much time should I budget daily?
Is it pretty laborious and reading oriented, or is it one of those sit and watch the videos type thing?
How did you find the work load, did you struggle to get it done on time?
Anything you would have done differently now that you're through it?

I work full time, have the wife and kid, try to train physically, volunteer regularly, all that good model applicant stuff, I'm a rather "busy" person as it were. I intend to study it properly and do a good job but I want to know what I'm up against to budget my time.

Thanks
Hey,

I think I can relate to your question as I work full time, have a kid, try to train and overall have a super busy schedule. I was putting 3-4 hours everyday (from 8 to 11 pm or 830-12) basically everyday after my kid went to bed.. Did this for about two and half weeks (and weekends I would put in close to 8hrs).. I received my CTP1 invite on Dec 21st last year and didn't really start until Jan 2nd due to the holidays.. then I was cramming stuff... so, if you start from day 1, you could skip a day every 2 days or so and continue your regular routine.

Hope this helps and congratulations!
Hey, that really does help thanks a lot. I'll be cramming hard on the days I can, but it's good to know I can leave it a couple of days here and there and not fall behind. Thanks for the input!

Wife is heading to PEI on June 13th. I'm planning on flying out to visit a couple times while shes there. When I went to core in regina, there was a car rental agency and hotel nearby that offered discounted rates to cadets. Is anybody aware of the same type situation near the Atlantic Police Academy?

Flying out from the west coast is gonna be pricey so looking to save some money however possible.

Thx
This hotel (Slemon Park Hotel & Conference Centre) seems to be pretty much next door to the training facility and the rates are decent. Not sure if they have special rates. Perhaps call them and find out

Anyone having difficulty in certain sections of CTP 2?

I started yesterday and having a bit of issues. It's really interesting though, I'm panicking but with a smile on my face :P

For all you PEI CTP Recruits, careful with the Slemon Park website. Tried to give me viruses.

Does anyone know if CSC provides Twinrix vaccine? Don't really want to spend 200 if I don't need to!

Cool, thanks. My wife just informed me that her benefits cover it, which is nice. Hope this info is useful for someone else!

Sooooooo, how's everyone enjoying CTP 2?
I'm finding it very interesting! I'm trying to get through the assignments as fast as humanly possible (hopefully they're right) so I can spend the rest of the time studying.

Is there anyone so far going to CTP 3 in Kingston? I feel so left out that no one is going with me :(

Struggling through it. Consuming a lot of time. There are some questions I'm not sure about. Just glad I completed the first one on Law and policy.

There will be a CPT3 French class in Kingston, this coming July. Anyone on it?
