Hi everyone, anyone here currently in the process for the pacific region?
I am ! How far along are you?
Hey!
I am currently in the middle of CTP1 (about 1.5 weeks left) and just got my email for medical assessment. You've completed everything and currently waiting for CTP2?
Hey! Yeah I have completed all steps as of Oct 4th - patiently (not so) waiting to hopefully get the invite for CTP2/3!

Situational Judgement Test. It’s the 1st part of the process after you apply.

A couple questions for any current or former COs.
1.) Was corrections something you sought out or did you just sort of fall into it?
2.) Was CSC your first choice for a law enforcement orientated career?
3.) How was your first year on the job and what do you think made you successful?
4.) Are you happy with your choice and do you recommend it.

I apologize for the lame questions but I’m trying to get as much feedback as I can. I have tried to make it to a recruitment event but so far the closest one has been 9 hrs away. I have applied for multiple regions (left out Quebec because I don’t speak French and Pacfic because of cost of living) but I have some reservations. I feel like I’d like the career and would probably be good at it, but I also realize it’s not for everyone. I guess the short of it is I’m curious to hear of others experiences to help me make my own decision about pursuing a career in Corrections. Any feedback is appreciated, either public or private.
Thank you

Hopeful, if it's any consolation. If you picked Pacific, you'd probably get Kent. It's in the middle of nowhere so the cost of living isn't too crazy. Not as bad as the lower mainland. Heck, the closest prison to lower mainland is in Abbotsford. But be careful, they'll put you where they need you. I have two friends who are CX we were in troop together. They live in Ontario, got shipped to BC.

Are there any trainers on this thread that know what the training dates are for CTP3 in 2020?
In both French and English.

Thanks.

For anyone interested in the Pacific Region, there is an open house at Kent in Agassiz, BC on November 26th. I am a CX1 at Kent currently and completed CTP back in July.

I wrote the SJT on October 10th and have yet to hear back. I know there are a few others here who wrote on the same date. Just wondering if anyone has heard back.

You'll get all your shots at CTP3, if you go to Kingston. Not sure about PEI.
When I did my medical, I brought my vaccines card which were hilariously out of date. When we get our weekly schedules in CTP 3 they will have shot schedules. If you've had shots in the past, they will send you for testing to see if you need to redo one.

I wrote mine on the 10th too in Edmonton and I’m still waiting. Hopefully we will find out soon 😀
