It was a good event, and I'm glad they made the effort to recruit from the North.

I found the exams quite easy and was happy I passed too while in Whitehorse. So much easier when they come up instead of having to go down to Alberta to write the exams!

Anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back after the poly? I know everyone is different, but would just like a rough estimate if possible :)

Lots of members with visible tats. Just make sure they're not questionable at all!

How was the Poly? I'm thinking about applying out west, and I know that all services there use the poly. I'm from Ontario and during our process we do not use it.

Poly was really different from the RCMP one. The interviewer was great at clarifying, helping you to feel comfortable & understand the whole process. I found it wasn't nearly as bad an experience as I was expecting. Obviously, you need to be brutally honest, but it was just really factual (no embarrassment). I heard back within 2 weeks, my psych is now done and just waiting for medical. I wouldn't hesitate to apply just because of the poly, it's really easy as long as you're honest!

lol I can relate there! I've done it with two different services now and was really surprised at how different of an experience it was compared to the service you mentioned.

I went in with no experience in poly and came out very pleased with the process. If you are honest, you have nothing to worry about.

RTC 134 started. Anyone here gunning for 135? I believe the applications are being processed and plenty of spots are yet to be filled. Get that app in!!!

Working on an application right now, passed the testing this past weekend
I have some questions regarding the application, looking for some clarification on some things as well. Who could I direct those questions to? would like to do it right the first time
also what would be the best way to attach extra notes to add clarification on things that are N/A to me, typed out or hand written on lined paper?

allbrancereal I'm hoping for rtc 135, so glad to hear there's lots of spots left! Do you know how they do it over Christmas? I'm assuming there's only a day off on Christmas day then right back to class?

acegman - I had a couple of typed/printed sheets added in for added addresses/work etc on my application. I added them at the back of whatever set of documents that it pertained to with a little heading ('section __, question __') preceding the statement, then the next set of application paperwork. I didn't have any issues doing it that way, but someone else may have done it differently.

Hi acegman,

Whenever I had questions regarding the recruiting process or the application package itself, I phoned the recruiting number on the following page:

http://www.joineps.ca/ContactEPS.aspx

I found them helpful, and you could also send an e-mail if preferred.

Good luck!

I agree with Kublu. Contact the recruiters directly. They are a very helpful bunch.

I can't remember if my application was typed or hand written to be honest. I dont think it matters though as long all the instructions are being followed.

Feel free to direct any questions towards me. I am more than happy to help.
