Hi everyone,

Just one question, I have to get a criminal record check done for my current job to access a couple buildings to do maintenance. I recently did my Right Fit Interview and waiting on the next steps. Just wondering if having a criminal record check done will raise any red flags in my application process, I contacted my recruiter and she said she doesn't know what they take into consideration but will put a note in my file.
Thanks for any input!
I have to get criminal record and vulnerable sector checks at least twice a year for work and volunteering and it was never brought up at any point during my application process.

I hope you enjoy the experience!
Your first day at Depot will be my last day :)
Congratulations! May I ask where you got posted and where you wanted to get posted?
Thank you,
I am posted to J Division which is what I wanted, not many can say they got what they wanted.

Hey guys,

Well my deferral is up. I got the to the Psyc stage and got removed from the process, and I just resubmitted my app! Looking forward to re-applying!

Side note; I heard a rumour that the RCMP are reintroducing the interview in the recruitment process? Can anyone confirm? I couldn't find anything about it on the website.

Currently doing the RMAQ. Just need help answering “have you ever stole anything”. I have never done such behaviour. Out of Curiosity, how specific would I need to be on this question?

Good luck!

The new interview that replaced the RMSI is called the "Rit Fit Interview".

What??? This is a yes or no question. You say "I have never done such behavior" so your answer is no. What does "specific" have to do with it? You have stolen something or you haven't. The question isn't asking "have you ever stolen something but feel it isn't big enough to tell us about?"

Just remember the RCMP can forgive the mistakes people have made in the past (to a point). What they won't forgive is a liar that can't be trusted to tell the truth when the consequences may be bad for the individual.

Just admit what you have done no matter how minor it was (to you) and let recruiting decide if it is a problem for them.

Pretty simple question. If you have stolen anything, chocolate bar, money, something from a friend, put it in there and give details as to what you did. I stole a pack of lifesavers when I was 5 or 6 while with my parents. They made me return it and apologize to the store clerk. I put this in my RMAQ. It’s not for you to decide how serious or menial the act was, that’s their job.

You are going into a profession where ethics is huge, honesty, integrity all come into play on a daily basis. If you can’t even admit to something on an application for a Federal Police service then you should reconsider your submission.

Just my 0.02 cents.

If you end up at the MTC, after a boo-boo, they may, or may not, depending on your assessed level of being addicted to them...unless you are wondering if you have to re-finish a fence while there, and if so, they will probably go with whatever is on sale at Beaver Lumber this week.

You will use both regularly at Depot. They’re safe.

I have yet to see a study of someone being addicted to either of those but I suppose anything is possible; though highly improbable.

I wasn't so much wondering about staining a fence as much as I'm concerned about staining/discolouring cotton/polyester fabrics. Nobody wants to be that person with a stained uniform during inspection so I'm just trying to minimize any unnecessary headaches.

Thank you for your response.
