Hi, I’m 22 with a diploma in accounting. Really interested in RCMP. Wondering if it’s a good age to apply.

Thank you

Hi everyone!! I had my polygraph 3 weeks ago! I an a New Brunswick applicant! Anyone has an idea how long does it take in NB to get an answer?
Thanks a lot
As Mr. Broccolo stated before many times on this forum;
Pete Broccolo wrote:
"You have a LOT of reading to do, in this thread, and [the New Brunswick] RCMP applicants thread, so you should do so, to get a better understanding.
Nobody knows how long their application will take, the RCMP is a giant agency with many moving parts and there is a near infinite amount of variables that will affect your application time. Maybe you might be the person who will get in within 8 months, maybe it might be 5 years. However, that being said, the best thing to do is to literally stop worrying about it and live your life.

Best thing to do is to apply and find out!

I suggest this to everyone, if possible;

Do a 'Police Observer Program' with the RCMP, you will learn a lot about the quirks of the job. I did mine last week and I can totally see how some people can get turned off by the paperwork, calls, stress etc. It gives you a huge reality check about the job and you actually get to meet with a bunch of GDs that will give you a great advice.

You can’t go wrong with your age. Honestly don’t even think twice just apply as of today. You are so young and so many years still ahead of you to grow and develop within the force ! Good luck!

Just wondering if any others have applied recently with braces. I have a feeling I will need them soon and didn’t know if that would affect my application at all.
Thank you

Hi everyone,

Just one question, I have to get a criminal record check done for my current job to access a couple buildings to do maintenance. I recently did my Right Fit Interview and waiting on the next steps. Just wondering if having a criminal record check done will raise any red flags in my application process, I contacted my recruiter and she said she doesn't know what they take into consideration but will put a note in my file.
Thanks for any input!

I wouldn't put to much thought into it. People get record checks for a multitude of things on a daily basis in instances just like yours (work/volunteering). I get them done every other year due to volunteer commitments and security clearance updates for work and that hasn't affected anything so far.

Awesome, that’s what I was thinking too. Thanks for the reply.

Shouldn't affect your application. Braces won't affect your ability to perform your duties.

I got a position in HR at Canada Post while I was in the final steps of my process. They did record check, for reliability screening. Didn’t make a difference in the process.

You can rest easy :)

-As i know for the RCMP we did Top Secret Security check, but im pretty sure in regards to entering the buildings for the maintenance purposes you do not need Top Secret Security check, excuse me if i am wrong.
This being said, do not worry too much and just get done the regular police check record which is done quick and just notify your recruiter via email as they require you to notify them if any change occur during your process/wait time ;)
