When do you usually get your flight itinerary? Just over two weeks until troop date

I was told the recruiter will contact us for the travel information, so i would say hold on till they contact you unless you have to be there in 2 weeks and you have not heard anything yet.

Curious if the change to dress regarding facial hair will apply to Cadets going through the Cadet Training Program at Depot?

Not that it's a deterrent, as a black male my skin welcomes the change in the event that I get accepted to attend Depot.

Hello everyone,

A bit late on this, but got my call in May and I am leaving in mid-August.
After 3 years, I got troop #17 :)

Can you please expand on this and bring us up to speed regarding the change to dress? Tried to find something online but no luck!

Members are now permitted to have beards while on duty
*edit: but I have no idea how this effects them while they're in dress uniform, so I'm curious too

I’m under the impression that this only applies to members/cadets for religious/cultural reasons. It would be similar as someone wearing a religious head dress.

** Edit; never mind, I just seen the article regarding the new new changes. Definitely an interesting development.

So this is gonna be speculation, since I don't know what the RCMP policy is for beards (like most of us) but i'm a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and we recently also had a new beard policy come into effect for all our elements. We are currently only allowed (outside of religious or medical reasons) to grow a beard AFTER completion of basic & trade training, I would imagine the RCMP will likely have similar directions.

But I could be wrong, guess we'll hopefully find out in Depot.

I should have provided some context. I came about this news article stating that the change in policy took place in May. Here's the reference : https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-e ... -1.5200558

Beards are allowed at depot with the same rules as regular members (except strictly enforced and monitored). If you want one you better show up with it. You cannot grow it in while you are there.

Beards are to be between 0.5cm and 2.5cm trimmed on the neck and cheeks. Must be kept clean.

Keep in mind having a beard will make you a target of drill. I had a mustache while going through and drill got after me every day.
