Hi there,

just wanted to chime in and reassure everyone. This letter was only sent to applicants who have they're application on the "old system". If you did not get this letter it means you when you applied, your application is/was added to the new Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The advantage to the ATS system is that we are much more responsive and efficient in communication and processing. So if you got this letter please follow the instructions. Your application is put to the exact same spot and you don't lose any processing time.

Imran
Will this letter be potentially coming through epost, or will it come to our regular email addresses? I haven’t looked at epost since I submitted my package in December.

Edit:
Got a call about my Right Fit interview today, so guessing mine is fine.

Hey all, I had a quick question about some recent application problems. I haven't been in Canada for the past 10 years and was given 30 days to submit a background check from the country I was residing in. Thanks to the beauty of government beaurocracy I didn't get it back in the 30 days and was informed that my application was closed stating:

"Should you decide to submit a new application in the future, you may do so in 6 months from the date of this letter or once you have acquired the requested Out of Country documents."

I ended up getting the document in the mail the day after my application was closed so I reapplied but haven't heard anything in over a month. Was the deferral not an "or" situation but rather a 6 month "and" situation?

Hey guys, is there a thread on where depot graduates are posted and if they are being located where they asked. I’m willing to move anywhere in Canada, but curious to hear where they are getting place if asked for specific places. Thanks

No offence man, but you’re lucky enough to be on a troop... be patient and wait and see where they offer you. I’d love to be in your shoes and not still waiting for my SC and phone call!

That would be interesting to see and hear about.
I imagine in a perfect world everyone gets their dream post. But of course we don’t live in a perfect world. If you read back some get the province they wanted but some don’t. Every troop seems to be slotted with so many spots for each area. So of course no one can predict what will happen but I suppose just keep your goners crossed and your nose clean for a good posting. :)

You obviously have not read the General Chit Chat, Ask An RCMP Recruiter, or Applicants from the specific Province you are from, threads yet, but you better start.

You get a chance to make an argument as to where you should go. Then the force tells you where to go. I got what I wanted, so did a few in my troop. Others couldn't have been posted farther away from their first choice if the force tried.

All the best!

I received the answer to my question today from recruiting. It seems since I applied to the same job posting twice, the second application was ignored. Sent in another application today since they put up a new job posting and we will see how it goes from here.

Out of curiosity did you have the same issues with finding suitable references? The requirements for suitable references really doesn't take into account living abroad not to mention the online forms for the background check which were a nightmare to fill out. :banghead:

No had no issue with suitability references. Wich they were clear about the 10 years prior applying to have ready before. Meanwhile takes more than 1 month to get all the papers from back home...
