New here, but just a quick intro.

I'm 32 years old and I've been a Correctional Officer for almost 8 years now in Manitoba. It's always been a dream of mine to become an RCMP member but until recently it wasn't an option. My ex could not get her mind around being relocated or not being near family so in order to keep her happy I applied with Corrections. Well now that she is my ex, it's time I pursue my dream.

My question is simply this (for now lol)... I am taking my GED test in September. Passing won't be an issue but is there anything I can do, outside of my hearing and vision tests between now and receiving my GED in preparation of this journey I'm about to begin?

Any constructive advice would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance!

Hey Buddy

I am glad to know that you're going to pursue your dream, WELL DONE. There are number of things you can do between now and September :

1. Start preparing for the Written Exam, here is the info:
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/preparator ... -exam-rpab

2. Start collecting information for the selection package which contains various pdf. You have to provide 10 years history of employment, residence and much more. Here is the info:
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/forms-completion

Feel free to ask if anything else comes to your mind.

All the very Best

Hi all,

So after doing my RMAQ phone interview. I heard back 3 days later that my file is being moved to PEP stage. I know time lines vary for different applicants. But what is a rough time line people have been receiving to book date for PEP test as the process has changed, especially for applicants in BC.

Cheers

Has anyone been accepted to Depot but for one reason or another had to leave?
I am curious to find what have you found challenging during the months that you have been there?

Thanks :)

I'm most likely overthinking this, but my Driving Record I ordered from Service Ontario is only 1 page... checklist says 2 pages :S.

I had the same thing, I don't believe it to be an issue. I sent my 1 page in with my SP and I haven't heard anything back stating it was insufficient. I think the longer the record (more pages) the worse it'll look.

Well lost one at 4 weeks in and our little brother troop lost one at less than a week in. Biggest thing I find is for not being able to cope with being away from family. That's what those two people left for

I don't think my wife would let me come back without a badge, not after the stress of the the process alone.
