I'm hearing Depot Noise that they will start to use the trailers in addition to D Block and CTF to house more cadets.
Should put 10 troops in total on Depot at any given time.
It would be even tougher for the Force to justify hiring someone who as part of their religion wouldn’t be able to attend or investigate any calls that would require you to be inside a trailer.

That's still not very busy to only have 10 Troops on base.Pho-fo-Sho wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:32 pmShould put 10 troops in total on Depot at any given time.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
This information is a bit out of date, PDT for example now comprises closer to 90 hours with the inclusion of IARD training that has been added to the end of the program. I believe Firearms total hours will now show higher as well given the addition of Carbine training at the end of the program.IronWolf wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 10:40 pmfound this very nice document, looks informative for future cadets : https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/depot/public ... ex-eng.htm
"The Cadet Training Program (CTP) consists of 785 hours and is broken down into seven disciplines or units. It involves a combination of classroom time, scenario training and practical sessions.
Unit Number of Hours
Applied Police Sciences 373
Police Defensive Tactics 75
Fitness and Lifestyle 45
Firearms Training 65
Police Driving 65
Drill, Deportment and Tactical 43
Detachment scenarios, exams, research, etc. 120
In addition to this, cadets are expected to work after classes in order to successfully complete the program and meet the high standards of the RCMP Academy."
... etc

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
It’s not that far off to what’s currently on base as it is. Currently running at roughly 1/2 what was on base prior to full shutdown.Bairdo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 12:06 amThat's still not very busy to only have 10 Troops on base.Pho-fo-Sho wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:32 pmShould put 10 troops in total on Depot at any given time.
Any move to start using those trailers would require displacing units that are currently using them for office space, etc. For example, suitability unit is currently using those trailers for office space, so pick your poison, they can open up the trailers to put another troop or two on base, or they can keep those units already in there processing applications. I’m willing to bet the suitability unit has more to do with speeding up anyone’s process than another troop in training.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Hey guys! I got my date to write my entrance exam, it’s scheduled for early October. I was wondering what the appropriate outfit would be to wear. Any recommendations?

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Business Casual is what I would recommend. But with that said; every appearance I ever made for the RCMP I always suited up. You can always dress down if required, and nobody is going to jam you up for wearing a suit to a police recruiting function.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
I second Highland's point on this one. Always dress your best. Your best may not be a 3-piece suit and pocket watch, it might just be shirt and tie with dress pants, but I promise you that making a good impression on every person you interact with in this process is only a positive. At the very least it makes you seem actually interested in getting the job, and that you are willing to take initiative to present yourself well.Esquire7 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 5:04 pmThanks for the recommendation!
