Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
So I just came across this article on CBC's website, claiming how the training at depot is continuing as normal despite covid-19. In other words, they're telling the public that Regina is not taking enough safety measure to keep the training going without risk !!!!!!!!
Why the heck all these lies ?!! As we see our fellows on this forum saying how strict and compliant their trainings to the covis safety measures !!
Here is some of the BS cbc is telling public..
" The partner of a staff member at the RCMP Training Academy, located in Regina, is wondering why there's been virtually no change to the training regimen of new recruits in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Every day my partner goes to work at Depot where they're working closely with cadets. And other than some, in my opinion, very small measures to maybe up cleanliness, very little has been done," the complainant said in an interview.
They agreed to speak with CBC on the condition that their identify would be concealed. They're concerned that speaking publicly may affect their partner's employment"

Not only is it from March, but the same day that article went to press was also the last day of training before Depot shut down and sent all the cadets home.N_McKenna wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:10 pmThat article is from March and before troops were all sent home.Canadianpatriot wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:51 pmSo I just came across this article on CBC's website, claiming how the training at depot is continuing as normal despite covid-19. Much like the impatient applicants who never seem to think the process is going fast enough for them, this member’s spouse Is complaining about the speed of which something they (or likely their partner even) have even the most remote grasp of the magnitude of the operations or the layers of decision making involved in formulating a response to what at the time, and even still remains, a completely uncharted situation with no roadmap from which to navigate.

Sure, the recruits are generally young and in decent shape. They are also physically in a perpetual state of fatigue and stress, and at the time of the article were living and working in close quarters 24/7 - literally a perfect environment for incubating and then spreading the virus to all corners of the country when they are exposed to loved ones at Graduation as well as when they report to their first posting. The right thing to do was to shut down, even with the limited information available at the time, it wasn’t worth spreading the virus at a faster rate than it was already being spread, not just due to the risk to the elderly or infirm, but because it legitimately kills people in the prime of their lives. If we ignore the things that made previous pandemics like the Spanish flu so deadly we have no one to blame but ourselves when the toll is exponentially higher.

If you get upset every time the CBC or any media posts something misleading or inflammatory against the police, you're going to have a very long career.

Can anyone comment on what the policy is if there is an outbreak at depot? will everyone be sent home again or would the limited number of troops make it able to quarantine everyone on site ?VanSmack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:12 amAbout as educated a statement as Donald Trump saying the virus would cure itself by April.Canadianpatriot wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:40 pm

From what we were told is if anyone on the troop test positive then the entire troop goes into a 2 week quarantine period, QUARANTINE not Isolation (no leaving rooms), plus a detailed investigation to track possible contacts to other troops.N_McKenna wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:44 amCan anyone comment on what the policy is if there is an outbreak at depot? will everyone be sent home again or would the limited number of troops make it able to quarantine everyone on site ?VanSmack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:12 amAbout as educated a statement as Donald Trump saying the virus would cure itself by April.Canadianpatriot wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:40 pm

This is why it is critical we all follow the rules and limit exposure to other troops and Regina locals. In theory a junior troop could graduate before a senior troop if this virus hits depot

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Hi, did anyone know if Troop 26+ are near the end of their training yet? I was wondering from this point on how long of a time one individual’d be expecting approximately till he/she receives call to go to the next available troop? Thanks guys!

26 should be gone in 2 weeks. 27 has 4 weeks, 28 has 6 weeks and 29 has 9.
