RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Re: Question about security clearance.
I spent 10 months outside of Canada between 2014 and 2015. I am a Canadian citizen as well. No problems during my application.Canadianpatriot wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 9:27 pmHey man Just a quick question.. have you spent more than 6 months out of Canada during the last 10 years prior to your application ?CSL17 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 7:22 pmHey all!
I have been in my security clearance since December 2019, and was contacted from the person completing my security clearance via email about doing a interview. I did my interview this past Thursday (March 26th, 2020) and he said he will do his report and send it off to the NCO. He also said my process should speed up now as well! Has anybody else done this interview while sitting in security clearance, and if so how long did it take to get your security clearance granted?
Thanks!

Re: Question about security clearance.
That's totally fine.. I was just wondering about the case of CSL17, if he had to undergo a security interview, due to the possiblity of him spending an extended period of time outside of Canada in last 10 years prior to his app.DanyD92 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 11:01 pmI spent 10 months outside of Canada between 2014 and 2015. An interview could be requested for anything. For myself I received the golded call 2 months after my interviewCanadianpatriot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:14 amThat's totally fine.. Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
There's no rush. Being 15 weeks in and my only advice is to enjoy the time you have with you family. It sure takes a toll.
And be fit! I lost 3 people in less than a month on failing physical benchmarks alone, and there was another troop that had 6 people that failed the PARE on the first week!
(Obviously got sent back due to COVID-19).

Can't you power walk the PARE? What is the benchmark for the first attempt?Pho-fo-Sho wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 8:51 pmThere's no rush. Being 15 weeks in and my only advice is to enjoy the time you have with you family. It sure takes a toll.

One person didn't even finish it, the other person failed by a few seconds. Just because you hear from either the RCMP / other people that they have lowered the physical standards does not mean they aren't going to send you home.
Come to Depot with a good attitude, physical shape and time management and you will be golden.
EDIT - 5 minutes 30 seconds is required to pass...

What numbers are troops graduating with now? Are they losing quite a bit by the end?

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
There should be a total of 16 troops when everyone gets back. They graduated 4 troops when I left - The last troop to be graduated were doing their final detachment. Soo... Troop 24 should be the most senior troop. Good luck to them once we get back, they're going to be doing ceremonial duties for a long time.oscar_mike wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:15 pmI feel for you guys that were there and sent back and I hope this all clears up soon so you can get back to it!
