Morning Everyone,

Just to answer a couple of questions here:

1) In terms of civilian positions, unfortunately I don't know. Although my police brain would hazard a guess that if we're not processing member applications, and most staff are teleworking, then its a good bet that you won't hear about a civilian application either. Also RCMP recruiters only deal with police officer hiring and have no information regarding civilian positions at all.

2) There was a question about

Looking for some clarification...

Is it always a different person conducting the field investigation portion of the application? I hadn't heard or received any email from my file coordinator about the field investigation just that I had passed the PEP.

Happy self isolating all!
Your file coordinator would not be conducting the field investigation. If you haven't heard/received an email then you need to be patient. Some people are told that a field investigation is taking place and some are not. This could be simply because the field investigator needs more information, or an updated phone number for your contact or ????. I would normally say that as long as you're receiving an email every 30 days, that's a good thing. At this moment, my understanding is that those emails should still be going out, but again, be patient. These are extraordinary times and we are doing the best we can.

Hi Imran,
Question for you, I am currently in the security clearance stage ( 2 months so far) and I have a question in regards to employment or should I say new employment. I already have a full time and part time job but I'm thinking of picking up an extra job with this whole covid 19 situation going on at a local grocery store working security. Would this have an effect on my security clearance? I've been told that starting a new job from various people at this part of the stage could possibly get me deffered back to Back ground investigation.

Thanks

Morning,

I don't see how you would be deferred in background due to this. We would need to be updated on your change of employment though and investigate as part of the background investigation and security clearance anyway. Taking on the additional job is entirely up to you so I want tell you what's best in that sense. If you are going to pick up the new job that's fine, just let your advisor know via email and provide all the details.

To those of you that were issued a Depot passcard, and have been sent home, pending COVID-19 Pandemic precautions lifting, as well as those of you in the mix, waiting for the golden ticket to the Pile O'Bones West Merry-Go-Round: keep up with your physical fitness, do whatever you have been told to do by Training or Recruiting staff, and do not lose your minds over this.

As always, do NOT "quote", or "copy and paste", this, nor hi-5, praise, nor thank me, for this post, unless you ARE on Training or Recruiting staff, or another RM or CM (do we STILL have those designations, or is it "Police Officer Member" and PSE?!) out there, somewhere, already with a horse-and-rider branded onto your buttocks. Violation WILL result in deletion of said post.

Otherwise, best wishes to everyone,

Asking this for conversation sake & acknowledging that I am willing to be posted anywhere & that postings are made to meet the needs of the RCMP.

Are postings to Vancouver Island highly sought after/ few and far between?

Cheers

I’m on VI now and I’ve heard of a few people getting back but have also heard of a few ending up on the mainland and Saskatchewan. luck of the draw and operational needs I guess.

Newfoundland was the most wanted in my brothers troop, He said he was surprised that very few picked BC for one of their potential postings.

Not that dude but it depends on the troop. Some will have a few postings out in the Atlantic provinces, some have none. I was the only person who got posted east of Manitoba in my troop. Its luck of the draw.

You have to be prepared to not get what you want, anything on top of that is a bonus.

Question about security clearance.

Postby CSL17 » Sun Mar 29, 2020 7:22 pm

Hey all!

I have been in my security clearance since December 2019, and was contacted from the person completing my security clearance via email about doing a interview. I did my interview this past Thursday (March 26th, 2020) and he said he will do his report and send it off to the NCO. He also said my process should speed up now as well! Has anybody else done this interview while sitting in security clearance, and if so how long did it take to get your security clearance granted?

Thanks!

I went into security clearance in January 2020. My coordinator said that someone may or may not contact me from Security. I have herd people getting interviewed. So I'm curious to see if I will get a call or not.
