Without purposely echoing the comments above....

Depot is totally manageable. Show up in good physical condition and you'll have a much..MUCH better experience

There are many little trivial things that will annoy you. The habits they create may coincidentally save your life.
Figure out your strengths and share them with those who need the help. You too will require assistance with something.

Get along with your troopmates. You'll inevitably have a falling out, dont be distracted by it. Get over it and move on

Clean the microwave before your inspections.

Take blue pens

Dont cut corners, literally and figuratively. It does you no favour to try and beat the system

Depot only sucks if you allow it to. Not every day is sunshine and rainbows- actually, most arent, theyre usually minus 20 before the wind starts- but your attitude over the entire length of the CTP will dictate your thoughts. Stay positive and you'll be fine.

After 16 months of waiting, I finally received the call. I literally just got my SC yesterday as well.

Hope for the best for everyone here.

Sincerely,
P.

Congratulations! Question, are you born outside of Canada? I feel it takes much longer for individuals who are not born within Canada.

I know people born within canada that took close to 3 years to get through the process and I know people that took under 9 months, I think it’s the luck of the draw

I sent you an email since I was sending it from my phone and I could not post on this forum via my phone. I am posting again here because I want everyone to see this:

I was born in Canada, however I disclosed some pretty complicated stuff on my RMAQ which got flagged. I was more than happy to discuss about it with my risk analyst and he was very understanding about the situation.

In fact, I felt that the RCMP felt super sympathetic with me in the overall process and wanted me to succeed. I want everyone to know that honesty and patience goes a long way. I was 100% upfront with everything and they gave me every chance to explain myself, this is something that I will never forget.

Kind Regards,
P.

Psych completed, just have final medical left next week. My coordinator hinted that if everything went well I could potentially be at depot before the summer of 2020.

My PEP was cleared within 2 hours of me doing it, I was surprised as to how quick I received my recommendation email, anyone else have a similar instance?

Mine was about two-three days, I was also very surprised. I was prepared for a wait of several weeks for PEP results, however my final medical results are taking quite long (2+ months).

Just a standard in-person medical examination and discussion of your medical history with a doctor. Pretty relaxed & informal, mine only took about 15 minutes. It's waiting for them to make a decision once they got all the results and letting me know that's taking some time.

Hello

Wondering if one of the more experienced members of this forum could tell me when the RCMP transitioned from in-person interviews to phone call interviews?

I personally prefer in-person interviews but I know the benefits of phone call interviews are too good to pass up. I just find it interesting since the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) still does in-person interviews and they're a federal agency just like the RCMP. Wondering if they will ever switch to phone calls to process more applicants over a shorter time period... Saves money for both the applicant and the CBSA too (CBSA recruiters travel the country for interviews to prevent bias from individual CBSA offices). There's a CBSA applicant in the CBSA forum that waited 10 months for an interview invite just for it to be a 14 hour drive (or short flight) to another province...

SO yeah, just to reiterate... When did the RCMP transition into phone interviews over in-person interviews?

I was in that weird transition period where they got rid of the Regular Member Selection Interview (RMSI) back in 2018. My polygraph examiner was talking about 'back in his day' and how the application process changed first with the PARE and then getting rid of the RMSI.

A few months later I heard about the Right Fit Interview (RFI) was being implemented in order to fill in the step left by the RMSI. So... mid-late 2018 to early 2019?

Not an exact answer, but I hope that gets to closer to what you are seeking.
