Wow. Heart broken is an understatement right now. Pretty crappy timing to find out I failed the Psych evaluation. 12 months into the application ouch this hurts right before Christmas.

Good luck to everyone else. Can't say it was not a great life and personal learning experience with myself regarding the whole application. Really wish they would have done the psych first. Wondering what my options are regarding fighting this Psych deferral? I had a weird feeling that after my Psych exam my psychologist and I did not connect and she was extremely cold towards me. Had a great feeling about every single part of the application except for my Psychologist.

Is there an opportunity to get a second opinion or another Psychologist to interview me? Seems like it's going to be a 1 year deferral.

To answer your question: no.

Wait a year, re-apply. Deferral happens to many people and sometimes longer than one year.

I don't know if this would help but I found a link on the main RCMP site where you can appeal the decision. If you go into the "careers" section, on the bottom of "how to apply", it has a link with more info. seems like it was added recently along with the new PARE process?

So if im waiting for my RMAQ can I go do the PARE already or I need to wait they gave me the go since i'm before the new rules?

Isn't the RMAQ just a form you fill out in the SP? I just finished the SP and thought the RMSI was next

There will be an RMAQ review via phone. They will set a time with you and go through the package. Then it will be forwarded while you wait to be moved on to the RMSI stage.

You are planning on having a career where you have to investigate for a living and yet have no clue what the selection process entails. (since all the information is posted on the RCMP careers page).

To the ones wondering. I was told to wait for the PARE since I applied before the rules change. However, every applicant after the effective application date (january 15) is in the other "process". It's not even on right now.

New to the forum and not sure if posting this is appropriate but I will try (I think it falls under the category of "chit chat"). I was wondering if there are any other applicants in the Edmonton area who may be interested in a workout buddy ^.^

I am still shopping around for gyms here so I am open to anywhere, I am currently staying near the U of A south campus and tried GoodLife fitness for the first time on a trial basis. I was planning on following the RCMP conditioning guide from itunes but open to other ideas as well. I just know it's nice to have someone relying on you to be there and vice versa.

Alternatively - if anyone has any good recommendations for gyms in the city that's helpful too. New to town

How long is the PARE Medical Clearance valid for? I live in Nunavut and my family doctor in a southern province. I am at my home town but my family doctor maybe to busy to fill my form. If this is the case I will have to wait for another 6 months.
