Hey Stathakos, thanks for taking the time to answer some well needed inside knowledge, I was under the impression that letting recruits trade their assigned port was a trial run, is that the norm now? I remember reading this was the case for intake 9.
Can’t really comment on how it is now, but I was intake 10C and it definitely was the case. Unless something different has come about I think it should still be doable. In the end even if I had to go to Northern B.C. I would still do it. I signed up for the career of a lifetime not just a port selection

Does anyone know if it is possible to defer their Rigaud intake?

I'm only asking hypothetically - I still have some steps before expecting an invite - but let's say you were working somewhere on a contract until March 2020, for example and they invited you to Rigaud for January 2020.....would it be possible to defer intake until after your other contract was complete or do you have to accept the invite or withdraw?

Does CBSA hep you out if you get posted somewhere there is absolutely no housing available? And a random one for the gym rats who have been posted to small towns, what did you do for the gains? Import weights to your house?

There is housing on site at some remote locations.

Are they individual houses? Or shared accommodations?

Does anyone know what the policy is regarding visible tattoos? In my case, I have a visible tattoo on my arm, astronomy related so not exactly inappropriate in any way.

Hi everybody, first time writing here. Is there an habitual lenght of time between each processus, like a new one start every 6, 9 or 12 months ? I passed the OTEE but failed the interview, just want to know how long it could be to have a second chance.

Thank you!

I believe they are all individual units.

Question for fellow BSOs

If I want to get to inland, is air mode really my best bet? Or can I still have a fighting chance from a land port, say one in Southern Ontario?

Thanks!
You'll benefit from the immigration experience from either port. But Inland is a completely different beast. So even though you'll have a working knowledge of GCMS and NCMS, and have an understanding of immigration theory, you'll still have to adjust to the post POE immigration process.

Any idea how seasonal ports work? If you’re posted at a port that is open May-September, for example, where do you go the remainder of the year?

You won’t get posted to a seasonal port. They get staffed by assignments out of other ports.
