Hello everyone,

I'm new to this group and was invited to write the OTEE next week. I'm just curious if anyone knows who created the exam? I'm asking because there are sites that offer specific practice exams depending on who created the test, ex....CEB/SHL TEST, Kenexa test, Saville test, talent Q, Cubiks, or Cut-E tests?

Or if you've written the exam and found any practice test sites helpful could you please share a link?

Thanks :)

Hi everyone,

Been reading the 2 main CBSA threads for awhile now, and I've learned this process takes a lot of patience! Congrats to everyone heading to Rigaud in January.

Applied this past summer to CBSA - Small Communities. Just got an e-mail saying I'll have to write the Written Communication Proficiency Test and the General Competency Test: Level 2. I submitted a transcript from the university I graduated from in 2016 with a BA in Police Studies, but they determined it did not meet the requirement.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? Should I have sent my degree itself, or e-mail them back?

Probably send a photocopy or image of the actual degree. Other than that probably email them for clarification. I would hate to write those two written tests all over again. WCPT and GCT2 were so much trouble.

I had a similar issue where they requested my documents then told me I didn't meet the requirements after. I shot them an email back asking for clarification and they realized the mistake and told me I did meet the requirements after "thoroughly" reviewing my documents again lol.

Looked like he was thanking all of you for your advice but now that he knows he didnt pass the interview, he doesnt need to rush getting the PAL, first aid, etc. (ie...at his liesure). :)

Just my thoughts though. If there was sarcasm in his post, it totally went over my head!

ps..busybee...any word on a Riguad date yet? (or any update?)
nope. you did not get me wrong, you read me completely correctly arch and from your post, nothing went over your head. what i wrote is exactly what i meant to say so thnx for reaffirming my aptitude in writing proper english . if there was sarcasm... it would now be retroactively in reference to thanking busybee.
BusyBee wrote:I'm sorry you didn't pass and I understand that you're sad. However, let's not point fingers. Your actions are yours, and yours alone. :| As for the adviCe we gave you...that's all it is.... Advice. Good luck to you on anything else you're working on. :)
what the hell did i say? or what the hell did you think i said? are you on crack? im not blaming anybody. the only thing i said was 'i dont know' (pg 90). if youre gonna interpret anything out of that... interpret it as frustration + disappointment + confusion.
BusyBee wrote:Also please note that I never actually told you to sign up for the courses...it's risky to do it in case you don't pass. I suggested calling them and asking if they'd like you to proceed.... :) Also...are you seriously asking us if you should call and ask about your weakness'? This is after telling us that your 'advice' was bad? I don't like being mean, but next time please think twice before you look for a scapegoat.
again... is this another crack moment? i know you didnt tell me to sign up for the courses. you said it would demonstrate a proactive attitude and obviously i agree if i said 'i can now do it at my leisure...' (pg 90) again, good comprehension skills arch -obviously you had a better english teacher. and yes... i am seriously asking if it would be a good idea to call and ask about my weaknesses. i remember somebody else asked about that in an earlier post and the pros/cons of it are interesting to weigh. the only worry i have is that if i call in... will they put a black mark on my file (re: 'this guy's a #@$# disturber') or if im being stupid and would have nothing to lose.

i dont like to be mean either. infact i always finish last, if you know what i mean (perfect eg: this competition). we all make mistakes but if what you wrote is what you meant, ide be glad to start thinking twice 'before i go looking for a scapegoat' (muttering to myself: idiot!), but ide request you put in some effort to get the facts straight before chirping off about something else...

torontonian69: sorry i didnt reply to your post when you put it up. i read your other news and im sorry to hear youve come to the same fate. we'll all get there, it just depends on the path we take right? i like taking the scenic route as well. so maybe this will all work out in the end as you said. if we share the same fate now, lets make it our destiny to meet in rigauld 2010.

Hello everyone!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here and man has there been some changes made to the application process! I have some questions that I’ve asked the cbsa general email but I thought I’d ask here in case anyone here knows the answer.

So in 2017 I failed my psych (still don’t get why) but I have to wait 2 years to reapply. I was told some of my things would transfer forward but now they have new tests in lue of the ones I had recently completed. My first question, when I first applied I had to complete the WCPT and GCT2 written tests, which I passed. I have noticed they’re no longer listed in the selection process but instead there is this new OTEE test, my question is will I need to complete the new OTEE or will the WCPT and GCT2 pass count towards that when I reapply? Second question is pertaining to the psych eval portion (which as i said I previously failed) and the time frame I understand the wait to redo the psych test is a 2 year wait, but is it possible to reapply before that 2 years is up to include myself in the inventory to start the whole process again so that when it comes time to do the psych testing the 2 years is up? Or is it specifically I can’t at all reapply for the application for 2 years? I’m trying to get myself as prepared as possible to go through this process and just needed some clarification on these things. Thank you for your time.

Regarding the Psych interview. I did one back in 2014 mmpi2 and the psych interview Do those results expire? or can they be carried on. It was for the cbsa position. I missed the interview by 1 question. Or will I have to redo the mmpi2

You will need to redo them for sure. They expire after 2 years.

Hey guys and gals,

So I've been hearing about the integrity interview what exactly is it? Polygraph? If so what kind of questions will I be expected to hear?

Thanks,
Alex

Hey! The integrity interview doesn’t consist of a polygraph. You are a simple google search away of the questions you will be asked.
