Just for anyone who is wondering; the file numbers are not being worked as they are received. It depends on the region you apply from. Head office is working the caseload in conjunction with the recruiters overall capacity in the area.
I presume NCR has a large amount of applications compared to other parts of the province.
I confirmed this information from the OPP-Hire phone line.

Patience is key :)
Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for relaying this info. I'm in eastern Ontario and coming up at 2 months since receiving a file number and nothing else.

Same here - nothing since receiving a file # almost two months ago. No news isn't necessarily bad news because we would have received a deferral letter if our applications were not being considered further. We're probably just in the que to be scheduled in our respective regions for the LFI. I'm located in HSD.

Jan 8 - Applied
Jan 11 - File # assigned
April 2 - LFI Invitation

Can anyone confirm this or bust this rumour that I've heard? I recently spoke to a friend of mine who informed me that the OPP does a pooling system. So they will take 180 people to the last stage but only pick 100 of them and deny the last 80. Is this true?

Where did your friend get such information? The only people who would be able to confirm such process would be those involved in end stages of the recruitment process, and I suspect they would not disclose such information. I don't think you'll find the answer to your question here on forums, nor will it assist you in being successful. Doing your absolute best to be competitive is all you can control, the rest is out of your hands.

I was at a mini info session held at Humber College yesterday. The recruiter giving the presentation did state that the O.P.P does not have a pool, your file simply awaits the final review. It's as Wheels28 mentioned, the most competitive get the call. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. I am not sure where he got the information. I totally agree with you, knowing the answer would not help me out.

OPP previously used a hiring pool, but they got rid of that awhile ago. If you check back earlier in this thread you'll see applicants discussing it.

Anyone else waiting to hear or has heard back from OPP after the background investigation recently? Just wondering when the hiring for the May class will finish.

Hi all. New to the forum here!

Quick question for anyone who has been through the constable process after being through the auxiliary process? I've done a psych test and the Pati for the auxiliary unit before and passed. Wondering if the OPP redoes a psych and the sigma for those auxiliary members who have done testing for them before???

Thanks, good luck everyone!!

I got the call for the May class last Thursday (finished my background stuff at the beginning of January) so they're definitely still making calls. I imagine they will still be making calls up until a few weeks out but that's just speculation on my part.

congratulations on receiving the call and offer.
So you've been sitting in silence since January, just submitting your weekly fitness log and waiting?

And yeah, pretty much. Just submitting my logs and any other updates to my application. I thought I would post my timeline here too as I found seeing others to be very helpful throughout the process, keeping in mind that everyone's is different. All I can say is that patience was definitely important.

It's been a hoot, but I got the rejection letter today... I'm not sure what else I can work on. I volunteer quite a bit and have done so for years. I feel I have worked in positions where I gained relatable skills and I've been a gym rat for a long time. I don't have post-secondary education and at this point I have a career and going to school isn't really an option. Anyone got any suggestions what to work on over the next year or so? In the meantime I guess I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing.

Good luck to you all.
