So just a question, if someone has signed an offer of employment for the permanent constable position, is there a chance of the offer being rescinded due to the COVID fluidity? Seems offers are still going out, and the need for police isn't slowing.

Ive heard of the possibility of "in house" training

Afternoon!

It all depends on the service. I don’t see offers that are already out being rescinded however postponed. Nobody knows the length that covid is going to be around for and OPC could still be operational come May.

In regards to in house training that all reflects on the needs and wants of the service. Smaller services, probably not - bigger services may offer some sort of cadet in training position or the position of special Constable until OPC runs.

Hope that helps!

COVID is going to be here for a couple of months at the very least, and in-house training presents the same problem as OPC did - there's a significant lack of social distancing.

I am quite nervous that my offer of employment will be rescinded, although there has been no mention of such thing happening.

Your offer will not be rescinded. What will most likely happen is that you MIGHT be moved to September OPC. I've been told by my service that everything is still moving ahead for May OPC though so it's looking hopeful.

Hi all,

I have a question about submitting your fitness logs. In the email it says this:

“OTHER-Fitness log-‘Month’-‘SURNAME’”.

What would you put for OTHER?

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your offer JohnnyQ. Is this offer from OPP? Also do you or anyone else knows if all offers for May class have been made?

Thanks everyone

“Other” refers to the type of update it is. Only things you change to the file name is the month and your last name.

I spoke with the person handling my file on Thursday and they said that offers will still be made for the April class.
