Wrong. There are many non- Sgt. officers trained and authorized to carry CEWs.
I will NOT respond to PMs from those not belonging to the private side.

You just got hired. You're a long way from being trained and authorized to carry CEW.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
Hello,
I finished my background and phsyc evaluation about a month ago...still waiting for the results of both. Wondering if anyone could share how long they have waited for their results to come back. Also, I was looking to see if there was any word as to the number of recruits that the OPP will be sending to OPC in 2013. The last post inregards to this were from October...maybe something has changed.
Thanks for you time,
Dan

When I was going through, my background took about a week and then I found out two weeks later that it was going to final review. Waited about a month and a half and was told I was in the hiring pool. I subsequently waited about 8 months till I got the call. Iuuno if that helps.
The phyc test, it was done while I was going through for auxiliary but I was never told my results and I did not have to see a doc. Approximately 4 of us out of my class did not require an interview.
As for class size, I heard it was going to be low (25) but you never know. They really don’t tell us.
Just be patient Dan, it all will come in time. Good Luck.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
I have a question for those who have gone through the training already at the Ontario Police College. I understand it's about 3 or so months training in Alymer and the rest is at the Orillia headquarters (if we are talking OPP). My question is, do they offer residence for married couples? I am wondering if I'll have to be living elsewhere from my spouse for 3 months or if they offer different accomodations. I'm expecting I'm going to have to live away from my spouse for 3 months.
Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
No room for spouses. It's dormitory-style living.

You expected wrong.
It's closer to 4 months.

I finished a few months ago....1 week prerecruit training in Orillia, 13 weeks at OPC, another 5 weeks in Orillia. 19 weeks in total. And all are without your spouse. And while your going through it all you hope(or not for that matter) that you dont' end up a police marriage stat. You need a supportive partner for this career. The 19 weeks away is just the start. I said that I would not be a police marriage stat at the start of OPC.....months later I was wrong. LOL. Life goes on. It is an awesome organization with so many avenues to go once you are established in your career. Good luck!

Same here. We went to OPC together too. Strange. And no, runnergirl and I didn't hook up
