Good luck to all applicants on passing their upcoming(in-person) Psychology Assessment. I have mine coming up on Monday. I've viewed some video's on the YouTube before and the videos seemed alright. The video's weren't about giving a false answer, they provided examples of the best way to provide examples to the questions answered in a behavioral interview specific to the MMPI.

Search MMPI behaviour interview(or variation) on Youtube to view videos and see what works / relates to you.

Something along the lines; When I was at a former workplace, myself and members of the team worked together and accomplished or overcame or solved ****, structured responses but with an emphasis on detail in response and teamwork in the workplace and emphasis on a positive answer. Answer questions honestly; but try to stick to a positive tone with a positive solution or outcome taking answers to a dark place id recommend to avoid.

Example, Do you have problems with your family? Mom or Dad etc?
Answer: I love my Mom and Dad alot and we are a close knit family, growing up over the last ten years we grew apart due to career, living far apart and this caused a little bit of conflict. Over the last XX years we have been working to grow close again and be an active part of each's other's lifes.
Did mine back in March and after the two written tests the psychologist asked a couple questions about some of my answers and we chatted and joked for a while.

The best advice I can offer is answer the questions honestly. Don’t try to manipulate the test to pass because it will show and you will fail. This test is not to determine if you have the perfect mind, psychological make up or if you are some kind of genius. It is to determine if you can be trusted to use a firearm while discharging your duties as a BSO.

Good luck!

Still waiting...no interview date.

Is it possible to pass the OTEE and not be invited to interview at all?

If you pass the OTEE you will get an interview. I waited over 5 months for mine, many people waited longer. The key to this process is patience.

I wonder what if there's too many of one selection process that pass the OTEE with 60% and then too many that pass all the rest of the steps and CBSA already has full number of applicants to fill the whole year in Rigaud ? Can some applicants that didn't even have initial Interview just expire or be moved to the next selection process ?
Has it ever been a case like that ?

Top down or random selection and any step of the process is what I recall in the job offer description.

From what I understand the process puts people into a pool of candidates that have passed all the steps and are ready to begin training. I don’t know the process for picking those people from the pool, but I would assume it begins with those who are in preferred hiring groups (minority’s, veterans etc.). I would imagine that if there are 300 spots available a year in Regaud they will take the top 300 candidates based on whatever CBSAs hiring criteria are. If you are number 301 on the merit list you may not get an invite until you fall into the top 300. Likewise the next year around if there are 300 candidates that are higher on the merit list than you based on the hiring criteria, then you would miss out on Regaud again.

I don’t know this as fact, I’m only guessing this is how it works based of my experience working in the federal government for the last decade. When it comes to hiring and promotions they almost always use a points based merit system to decide who gets chosen.

I’d have to check but I believe it’s top down or random selection once you have completed all the steps in the screening process.

This seems to vary greatly for people, but in my case was around 6 weeks.

Thanks for your quick reply! 6 weeks is a super long wait, I'd by dying... With my OTEE, the wait became more bearable the longer it was, just easier to put it out of my mind after a while I guess!

Did your security email also include medical clearance information?

Yeah, wait is not fun :)

No medical part, just security steps.
