Question on police recruitment.
Question on police recruitment.
Hi.
I'm thinking about joining the Toronto police force, and I have a few questions.
I'm 32, I don't have a criminal record but I do have a few background check problems, a ticket for driving uninsured, a complaint filed by my ex wife, and a suicide threat (unfortunate misunderstanding ) and a couple of minor traffic tickets on file.
I am an electrician, I speak fluently 4 languages and have been doing community service for over 4 years.
How big a problem would my background pose in the hiring process?

You'd likely be alright, if only you were not an electrician.

IBTL.......... Too early ?

It's not if you win or lose, but how you place the blame.
Re: Question on police recruitment.
Seriously.
How bad is it?
On a scale from one to ten, 1 being immaculate record, 10 being convicted of a crime.

At least an 8.
When things get bad, I take comfort in knowing they could always be worse.
When things get worse, I take comfort in knowing they can only get better.

Look up my "The Sad Truth Cannot get hired" thread. Then you come back and tell us what you rate yourself as based on your competitive factor.

I've had a pretty eventful life, and everyone likes an underdog.
Maybe the interviewers will too.
I do know it's un uphill battle though.
