Members won't be able to tell you what the questions are. There are core competencies and everything is answered on the website. http://winnipeg.ca/police/HumanResource ... cess.stm#3

As stated, the second interview is behavioural based. Google behaviour based interview and that's what you get. Like all interviews, you'll need to follow the STAR principle.

That is all.

Thanks Boys! Best advice to applicants to police services:

Apply lots of places
When they tell you to get lost don't take it personal
Keep trying
Take a job with whoever hires you first
Don't try and make sense of it

That's what worked for me.

Kidding......welcome back.

I know this is from awhile ago but it's my new favorite saying! :alright:
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men (and women) stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

So i was wondering, if you work for the Winnipeg Police service how do you like it? I know the pay is relatively the same as the RCMP. Are the benefits , such as pension and Dental and Vision plans? What are most of your calls consisting of. Just general things about the job i should know. I also want to know where i should volunteer if i wanted to have a good resume to get into the police service, i was thinking of a personal care home for a while, any other suggestions of places to volunteer?
Sorry I just reda this post...Winnipeg, Winninipeg, I mean Winnipeg??? How do you plan on passing the psych test to get on the job? :ponder:

Yeah but that's just prosperity - not necessarily the best all round !

Actually it is 9th best overall, the chart is a bit misleading at first glance. The rank given is "Overall" for all categories. If you click through the sub menu under the "Best Cities Link" it comes up 9 out of ten on all other rankings, what changes are the individual category rankings on the right hand side.

Now if they added the mosquito index in there The Peg would be screwed!

Yes it is confusing and a quick look at the methodology section will show what a flawed study it is. Basically they are saying "This is the ranking based on the things that we chose to measure". Personally I would think that outdoor fitness facilities, cultural venues (not just the number of people employed in the culture field), scenic vistas, etc should count a heck of a lot more than how many new cars there are if you truly wanted to know where was the best place to live in Canada.
