I don't understand the logic behind this... Why wouldn't the RCMP just pay 25 percent more to hire REAL police officers. And get the Auxiliary to do the other stuff?

Whatever the CSO duties are, these, are done full time.
Aux Members, being - "part time", wouldn't be able to do it.

As for dedicating an RM to do CSO's duties:
There is shortage on the front lines, no need to waist an RM on the back.

Part Time is a big word, it is actually a 'spare time' for some and "play time" for most.

Beacause the RCMP(like every other government dept) is very cheap. The RCMP can get rid of these guys anytime and not pay them full benefits and pension. Another reason that the RCMP should have an association to stop this crap.
