No he was in a beef plant, and quarters would go missing between breaks, cooked in sterilizers.

Trying to get some stats....
How much do people pay in Union/Association dues?
I've often heard Police officers in the RCMP say they don't want a Union/Association due to the cost. Is it that expensive?
We have no representation and if things go sideways - are totally on our own. (15 years for backup policy - give me a fucking break!!!)
....working by yourself tonight? ...Call someone in if it gets busy! .....wtf?
Our pay is DIRECTLY related to Union/Association negotiations. ....is there not even the slightest bit of guilt on our part with that?
OPP - you have an association. How much are your dues? Who fights your battles? How many grievances would be put in, in any given time?

I'm a federal CO...we pay roughly $80.00 per month. Is it worth it? ...I'd have to say yes. Although you have to rely on a union rep willing to take a grievance and run with it. They did succeed in winning us very much improved collective agreement.

Congrats on the COs for getting out of the covert wing of the NDP (ie PSAC). Now if only our guys could get their heads out their asses and do the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the OPPA do this on the behalf of OPP members.

1.5 to 1.75% of gross pay is not an uncommon dues rate in a unionized envronment.

There is something I am not understanding. Could someone else on here please do the math.........
I think, but will stand corrected, that Association Dues regarding the Mounted Police Associations (in Quebec, Ontario, Ottawa and British Columbia) is $9 a month.
....that works out to .15% of our Gross Pay! That is 1/10th the going rate???
Is there some reason the RCMP doesn't have a National Association???
I always thought it was the cost that kept employees away from joining but.....
9.....NINE .....DOLLARS! ........A MONTH???
What's stopping us?
