Suggestions: Squat / Bench Power Racks

Postby mack_silent » Tue Apr 22, 2014 6:00 pm

Anyone that has suggestions for decent weight lifting power racks?
I'm looking for a home gym rack for spotting squat / bench press exercises.

So far, I've researched a few styles, including the full-rack, half-rack, and sumo styles.
I like the full / sumo styles -- The half racks I use at gym, but don't seem as safe.
My price range is 300-600$.

So far I like:
Sumo Rack -- http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/92565.html
Full Rack -- http://www.amazon.com/Powerline-PPR200X ... B000VLRVSC

Suggestions are appreciated.

Shawshank - I just checked their website, the prices are surprisingly good!

Any idea if these rubber weights are similar to bumper plates? (suitable for deadlifts / power cleans)

Basketcare - that's a really sweet looking rack!... I like the yellow anno job, but it's a tad out of my price range.

They are not bumper plates, just a rubber coating. What city do you live in?

Rogue Fitness has some decent options.
I'm not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but let's take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself.

Make sure that the squat rack is tall enough that you can do standing barbell shoulder press inside of it, as well there should be enough clearance at the back to slide a bench in far enough to do bench pressing inside it.

Can do standing presses outside the cage. But for me, I can't do them in my basement regardless, so I built a set of uprights for outside.

Yeah didn't notice the budget specs. Shipping was free for me but I spent a lot.
