Your Best time in 1.5 miles run?

like the topic said, what's your best time in 1.5 mils run?
I want to improve my time by having some virtual competitors.

So far my best time is 11:00mins for 1.5 miles.

11.5 mins. and then 12 mins. The old frame is a little bigger than I remember and alot heavier. :oops:

When I was younger and still playing hockey could do it in under 10 mins. but much slower now.

Back in Depot I did it in 9:09. That was many moons ago! The last time I did it was in 2000 and my time was 10:18.

Ryan, to get under 10 minutes, you need to run at least 9 miles per hour. Figure on running 9.1-9.2 miles per hour to make up for the start

My best time last year was 10:55, havent gone running outside so far this year. I should be able to beat it though, since I've lost about 20 pounds over the winter.
You can't always get what you want...

But if you try sometimes, you may find, You get what you need...

did 10:13 for Peel testing in 1991...boy am I old... and I was nearly killed by a cruiser (running circles around the lot at Hurontario was crazy) :shock:

You need to set the incline at least at 2% to have it the same as outside.

There is no wind resistance when you are on a treadmill as you are not moving, when outside there is and that makes a pretty big difference.

My best time is 10:30 on a treadmill and 11:00 outside. I need to get it well under 11:00 outside as I am also applying for the VPD and that is one of the basic reqs. Just need to finish up my final 3 credits.

No but when you are running inside on a treadmill there is no wind. You are not moving in relation to the air around you.

When running outside you have to move your body through the air around you and if there is a head wind you have to overcome that too..

The 2% incline is to make up for the wind resistance if you are running in still wind conditions outside.

This is what information I have found on the web and from people that are personal trainers.
