Whatever the issue of the day is from my employer thus I'm covered under WSIB if cut on duty. Currently that is the all leather hatch friskmaster brand.

Hatch resistor. I still have a few pairs from my old gig and like them better than the frisk master

Always leather on the outside, whatever you get.
If you do not have access to the private side please do not contact me. I do not give employment advice other than what is publicly posted.

Stay away from Oakley "Assault Gloves" apparently:

http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/otta ... -1.4018998

I wear them searching shipments because they protect my knuckles but will only wear agency/force issued protective Kevlar gloves for arrests or use of force situations due to both being WSIB protected and legally protected by wearing properly issued kit. Not saying the Officer in the article wasn't wearing issued kit just stating my opinion that using issued kit can and does protect you in more ways than one.

Agreed. You can use hand sanitizer and/or soap on them to disinfect them too.

There was a study done a few years ago (can't find link right now) indicating that a) the all leather gloves held way more bacteria than the other materials b) no matter how much hand sanitizer you used it doesn't actually make a difference.

I like the TAC AK2 gloves myself, so far so good !

221b Tactical carries some great gear, including slash gloves.

Hatch friskmaster, leather exterior, easy to clean.
They have a longer wrist cuff than the resistor which makes on/off easier/faster.
